Movie Review: Hulu’s “Grimcutty”

While scrolling through Hulu’s “Huluween” section I stumbled across a movie titled Grimmcutty. The art caught my attention so I decided to give it a try. Here’s what I thought. Warning, there maybe a few spoilers. First, let me fill you in on what the movie is about. Written and directed by John Ross, Grimmcuttry centers on a teen and her little brother who must find a way to stop a monster brought to life by the hysteria of their parents. After the kids’ parents find out about Grimcutty, which they believe is a social media challenge, they go into overdrive and believe the answer is taking away the kids’ devices. The more concerned the parents get the angrier they become, which drives Grimcutty to attack. The movie speaks to two points. The first is the world’s obsession with social media challenges and how dangerous they can be, remember the Tide Pod Challenge? The second is the lack of trust

Amy Adams Starring In Horror Movie Adaptation ‘Nightbitch’

Amy Adams (Arrival) is set to star in Searchlight Pictures’ upcoming horror film Nightbitch along with Mary Holland (Happiest Season), Deadline reports. Described as a “darkly comic horror film,” Nightbitch tells the story of a woman thrown into the stay-at-home routine of raising a toddler in the suburbs, who slowly embraces the feral power deeply rooted in motherhood, as she becomes increasingly aware of the bizarre and undeniable signs that she may be turning into a canine.” Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’s Scoot McNairy will also star. Directed by Marielle Heller (A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood), the film will reportedly be released as a Hulu Original produced by Adams. The movie is based on Rachel Yoder’s novel. Yoder also penned the script.

Fans of The Conjuring universe will be happy to learn that filming began last week on The Nun 2. But that’s not the only film from the universe New Line is conjuring up, the Warrens are back for another terrifying true story-based tale, The Conjuring 4! James Wan and Peter Safran, who have delivered every movie in the franchise so far, are returning to produce, THR reports. Also returning is David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, the writer who was behind The Conjuring 2 and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It who will pen the script for The Conjuring 4. Michael Chavez is in the director’s chair. Taissa Farmiga, star of The Nun, will reprise her role as Sister Irene with Bonnie Aarons who plays the evil nun returning as well.
