“The Boys” Star Joins The Cast Of True Story Inspired Horror ‘True Haunting’

“The Boys” star Erin Moriarty, who plays Starlight on the superhero series, joins the Twilight Saga star, Jamie Campbell in the upcoming horror film True Haunting, based on the 2011 novel of the same name by Edwin F. Becker, that recounts a true story. The book chronicles the first-hand account of the real-life couple Ed and Narsha Becker, who move into a new home, quickly discovering that it is haunted. The paranormal activity that plagued the couple made national news when their home became the first-ever to be a televised location for an exorcism. With NBC covering the events in 1971. Not only did the exorcism not work, it only made things for the Beckers much worse. True Haunting will be directed by Gary Fleder, who is known for directing episodes of shows such as the “Kingdom” and for his fantastic adaptation of the James Patterson novel Kiss the Girls starring Morgan Freeman. All 44 Episodes Of “Freddy’s Nightmares” Coming To Screambox

Just when you thought it was safe to go back to sleep, Screambox is releasing all 44 episodes of the iconic horror series “Freddy’s Nightmares”. “Based on one of horror’s most storied franchises, “Freddy’s Nightmares” is an anthology series starring the original Freddy Krueger, Robert Englund. Airing from 1988 to 1990, each episode tells a different story of a dark rooted and grim nature that takes place in this fictitious town on Elm Street; the same setting as the A Nightmare on Elm Street films. The series picks up with where the films left off, with Krueger terrorizing the citizens of his hometown and taking his revenge out through their dream.” The producers of the series not only retained Englund for “Freddy’s Nightmares” but also cast a slew of unknown names who later became very notable actors including Brad Pitt, Lori Petty, John Cameron Mitchell, and Mariska Hargitay. Hulu’s Adaptation Of Stephen King’s ‘The Boogeyman’ Begins Production

There are many adaptations of Stephen King‘s works headed your way over the next year (list) including Peacock’s Firestarter. One of the films set to be released is The Boogeyman, which King penned nearly fifty years ago as part of his Night Shift Collection. The Hulu feature film has now entered production and is being directed by Rob Savage, with “Yellowjackets” actress Sophie Thatcher (pictured), starring alongside Chris Messina, Vivien Lyra Bair, David Dastmalchian, Marin Ireland, and Madison Hu. The story “follows a 16-year old and her younger sister, still reeling from the death of their mother, who is targeted by a supernatural boogeyman after their father, a psychologist, has an encounter with a desperate patient in their house.” We’ll keep you posted.

‘The Exorcism Of God’ Now Possesses A Theatrical, Blu-ray, And DVD Release Date

Peter Williams, an American priest working in Mexico, is considered a saint by many local parishioners. However, due to a botched exorcism, he carries a dark secret that’s eating him alive until he gets an opportunity to face his own demon one final time in The Exorcism of God. The film that hails from director Alejandro Hidalgo and his co-writer Santiago Fernández Calvete, stars Joseph Marcell, María Gabriela de Faría, Will Beinbrink, Hector Kotsifakis, and Irán Castillo. The Exorcism of God opens in theaters and debuts on Digital, and On-Demand on March 11, 2022, followed by its April 19th release on Blu-ray™+ Digital and DVD, from Lionsgate.

Epix’s New Horror Series “From” Premieres This Weekend!

EPIX’s new sci-fi horror series “From” makes its premiere this weekend and it’s a must-see! In fact, I called it “one of the best new series of the year,” in my review. Starring Harold Perrineau, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Eion Bailey, the series finds a family stuck in a time loop and forced to acclimate to a town made up of stranded travelers. Just when they think things couldn’t get any worse, they discover that when the sun goes down and terrifying monsters come out to hunt. The cast of this fantastic, dark series also includes Hannah Cheramy, Simon Webster, Ricky He (The Good Doctor), Chloe Van Landschoot, Shaun Majumder, Corteon Moore (Utopia Falls), Pegah Ghafoori, David Alpay (Castle Rock), Elizabeth Saunders (Clarice), Elizabeth Moy, and Avery Konrad. During my interview with Harold Perrineau, he explained one of the things that make the creatures so terrifying. “They just walk because you know why? You’ve got nowhere to go. That’s scary.”

“Gotham” star Ben McKenzie (pictured) and Beyond Skyline’s Bojana Novakovic are set to star in the upcoming J-horror film Bloat, Variety reports. “Bloat stars McKenzie as a military officer stationed in Turkey while his wife (Novakovic) is vacationing in Japan with their kids. During the stay, their younger son almost drowns in a lake. Soon after the accident, the parents realize that something is wrong with their boy.” Written and directed by Pablo Absento, Bloat is produced by Bazelevs’ Timur Bekmambetov (Unfriended, Searching, Profile) and is co-production of Pulsar Content, which recently released the fantastic aquatic horror The Deep House. McKenzie and Absent are producing alongside Bekmambetov, Anna Shalashina from Bazelevs, Maria Zatulovskaya, Gilles Sousa, and Marie Garrett of Pulsar Content, Hiroko Oda from flag Co., Ltd, and Dzhanik Fayziev from Okko. After a violent clash with Paul, she flees through the neighboring woods and stumbles onto the unfamiliar sight of a highway, soon discovering the year is 1973.
