Movie Review: Show Yourself (2016)

Ol’ Travis (Ben Hethcoat), one of your floppy haired actor types, heads out to the middle of East Asshair Nowhere to lay to rest the ashes of his deceased chum Paul (I would have just flushed that bitch and went for a pizza, but hey, to each their own). Once at a cabin at said location, Travis dicks around on his phone, dreams about Paul (as do we all…as do we all) and downs some drinks…be still my heart…Anyway, Travis scatters half the ashes into a stagnant pond (where soggy, silent Paul suddenly appears for a tick), and gets on with his whirlwind of boozin’ and Skypin’. Occasionally something makes it’s presence subtly known…when it wants to…which isn’t often…but is it Paul? Let’s start with what I liked about Show Yourself. Actor Hethcoat makes for an engaging lead; he has a nice range, and he definitely carried the story (more on that below) admirably. Moving on… Holy hell this movie

Movie Review: Dead Night (2017)

Dead Night opens in the year 1961 as strange hooded figures abduct a young woman and impregnate her with their demon seed…which goes about as well as one would expect (I mean really, has “raped by a monster to sire it’s love child” ever had a happy ending?) Flash forward to 2015, and a dysfunctional family (and one friend) heads out in the family truckster to visit a remote cabin, under which a large quantity of buried iron is said to exist…why is that important? Because said deposit can supposedly render a new age cure for the family’s ailing patriarch. Of course this location is still home to those creepy creatures mentioned above, and they’ve been rubbin’ up on some corkscrew cocoon thing gettin’ it’s tentacles all a-twitter. We soon learn…via a true crime television show replete with cheesy re-enactments and commercials for a local politician, Leslie Bison (the legendary Barbara Crampton) that the matriarch of the fam, Casey (Brea

Movie Review: 3: An Eye For an Eye (2018)

3: An Eye For An Eye begins as a married couple abduct a man they feel is responsible for the wife’s rape years previous. The main of course professes his innocence, but this doesn’t stop them from tying him up and trying to torture a filmed confession out of him. This all seems fine and dandy (minus the legal and moral quandaries it brings up), but there is another small problem…they may have the wrong man…and the sexual assault may have never taken place. The most intriguing thing about 3: An Eye For An Eye is that it manages to do a whole lot, with a whole lotta nothing; one main location, three actors, a minimum of props and effects…you’d think that may not be enough to hold your interest for nearly an hour and a half, but thanks to incredibly strong performances, and an excellent narrative that keeps the audience guessing and the tension mounting this is one of

‘Euthanizer’ Aims To Kill – In Theaters This July (Trailer)

From writer/director Teemy Nikki comes the dark, gritty film Euthanizer, opening in theaters this July. Veijo runs a black-market operation euthanizing people’s ailing pets to make extra money. It is clear he has dark secrets, but only after meeting a young nurse and a seedy mechanic (who’s mixed up with a vicious gang of neo-Nazis) that Veijo’s carefully balanced, albeit deranged, life begins to show cracks. Things turn to the extreme when Veijo does not finish a job he was paid to and his client finds out…in this grungy exploitation throwback. Described as a “great addition to – and a new take on – the current wave of grungy exploitation independent cinema” (The AV Club), Euthanizer combines horror and humor like never before. Matti Onnismaa, Jari Virman, Hannamaiji Nokander, and Heikki Nokander star in the thriller, opening in L.A theaters (other cities to be announced) from July 20, with a VOD release set for August 7, 2018, from Uncork’d Entertainment.

Review Of ‘Remothered: Tormented Fathers’ for Xbox One

The cool hardworking folks over at Darril Arts gave me the opportunity to play the Xbox One version of their awesome horror-stealth game ‘Remothered: Tormented Fathers’ in a previous article I spoke of this. The game is out now on PC but will be out on PS4 and Xbox ONE July 25th. It’s been a while since a horror game actually spooked me! I would play the game, take a break from it and partially vow to never play again but the story drew me back in because I wanted to see what happens next! The story takes place in 1970’s Italy and follows a woman named Rosemary Reed who came to the mansion of Dr. Felton to ask about his health while in reality, her true intention is to find out what happened to his daughter Celeste who has gone missing years ago. After her investigation abruptly ends, she breaks into the mansion at night and quickly things get
