People Are Used As Guinea Pigs In The Thriller ‘Ultrasound’ – Coming To DVD

Director Rob Schroeder makes his feature directorial debut with Ultrasound, a dark tale of human experimentation and questionable ethics, arriving on DVD and On-Demand this June. While “driving home late at night during a heavy rainstorm, Glen experiences car trouble. Near where his car gets stuck, he spots a house, knocks on the door, and is greeted by an oddly friendly middle-aged man, Arthur, and Cyndi’s younger wife. The strange couple pours him a drink and then more drinks, followed by an unexpected offer that Glen can’t refuse. Elsewhere, a young woman, Katie, feels emotionally weighed down by a secret romantic arrangement that feels like a textbook case of gaslighting. And at the same time, in a nondescript research facility, medical professional Shannon begins questioning her role in a bizarre experiment, fearing that she’s doing more harm than good. Starring Vincent Kartheiser, Chelsea Lopez, Bob Stephenson, Brenda Wool, Tunde Adebimpe, and Rainey Qualley, Ultrasound was written by Conor Stechschulte and

Men Gather Around A Body In The First Image From Supernatural Horror ‘Abyzou’

Three men gather around a body in the first image from Millennium Media’s new horror-thriller Abyzou, which Decal acquired at Cannes. In the film, the son of a Jewish funeral director returns home with his pregnant in tow. When the family receives a mysterious body, they are unaware that it holds an ancient demon with sinister plans for the unborn child. Nick Blood (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”), Allan Corduner (“Homeland”), Emm Wiseman (Winchester), and Paul Kaye (“Game of Thrones”) star in the film directed by Oliver Park. Hank Hoffman penned the script with Jonathan Yunger. According to lore and myths, Abyzou “The Taker of Children” is the demon often blamed for miscarriages and infant deaths. She was said to be motivated by envy because she was infertile herself. In the Hebrew tradition, she is identified with Lilith, in Egypt with Alabasandria, and in Byzantine culture with Gylou, but throughout history she had many names. Deadline reports that Abyzou will land in

Tribeca Festival Heaps on the Horror at Midnight

Tribeca Festival Heaps on the Horror at Midnight

Tribeca Festival has a tantalizing, sure-to-be-terrifying array of horror movies, thrillers, and related genre offerings slated for this year’s Midnight section of the renowned fest, which takes place June 8–19, 2022 in New York City. Along with the Midnight section, the TribecXploitation series offers three NYC-shot grindhouse classics on the big screen, presented by their directors. Following are brief descriptions of each film, followed by my thoughts in italics. Midnight Attachment Maja and Leah’s new relationship is interrupted when mysterious things start happening in their London flat. It seems that Leah’s disapproving mother, who lives downstairs, is using Jewish folklore to come between them. Folk horror is red hot at the moment, and religious horror is always a popular subgenre. It sounds as though this slice of Danish fear fare may have elements of both, and the acting is said to be particularly strong. The Black Phone Locked in a soundproof basement by a masked child killer, a teenage boy
