An Interview with the Cast of ‘Salem’s Lot’

With its premiere only days away, I sat down with the film’s cast, including Lewis Pullman, Makenzie Leigh, Alfre Woodard, and Spencer Treat Clark, to discuss the movie, their characters, special effects, and much more. The film is set in 1975, when King’s original novel was published. Salem’s Lot follows author Ben Mears as he returns to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot. Haunted by a childhood incident, Mears seeks inspiration for his next book. Ben soon discovers that the town is being terrorized by a bloodthirsty vampire and its loyal servant. The film experienced multiple delays. If you are wondering if it was worth waiting for, my review, which you can find HERE, will answer that question. Salem’s Lot, a film you can really sink your teeth into, will bare its fangs on MAX on October 3. Watch the new Salem’s

Sink Your Teeth into the First Look At ‘Salem’s Lot’

The long-awaited movie adaptation of Stephen King‘s beloved horror novel Salem’s Lot is finally coming. Vanity Fair has shared the first batch of images from the movie directed by Gary Dauberman, who is known for his work on IT and The Nun. Dauberman told Variety, “You could do a very dry version of this movie, but that’s just not my personality,” He continued. “It’s trying to ride that wave’s ups and downs. You’re having fun with it, and then you can have a scare, and then you’re having fun again. Hopefully it feels like a complete ride at the end.” King himself took to social media earlier this year to speak out on the delay. “I’ve seen the new SALEM’S LOT and it’s quite good. Old-school horror filmmaking: slow build, big payoff. Not sure why WB is holding it back; not like it’s embarrassing or anything.” Set in 1975, when King’s original novel was published, Salem’s Lot follows author Ben

Movie Review: Arena Wars (2024)

Movie Review: Arena Wars (2024)

In the very near future, everyone is absolutely balls deep into Arena Wars; the game show where convicts can earn their freedom if they survive the onslaught of a ghoulish gaggle of murderous madmen (and women)… well at least they used to be into it, but the contest has been one sided… what with those sinister stalkers being armed to the nines and all… for so long that things are getting a bit long in the tooth. Enter: Luke Bender (John Wells), an ex-marine serving a totally rational 200 year sentence for a crime he had nothing to do with after all, which gives him plenty of motivation to win this particular contest of champions, so before you can say Bachman Books we’re off and runnin’, man! Now of course comparisons between this film’s narrative, and Arnie’s 1987 masterpiece (and by association Stephen King’s 1982 novel of the same name written under his Richard Bachman pen-name) are going to be
