'Happy Death Day' Director Sinks His Teeth into the Adaptation Of 'Big Bad'

‘Happy Death Day’ Director Sinks His Teeth into the Adaptation Of ‘Big Bad’

Horror maestro Christopher Landon (son of legendary actor Michael Landon), fresh off his departure from the upcoming Scream sequel, which seems to be a sinking ship, has already sunk his teeth into a new cinematic beast. According to Deadline, he’s set to direct Big Bad for Lionsgate. The film is a werewolf tale based on a chilling story by Chandler Baker, who is adapting her work for the big screen. In Big Bad, we’re drawn into the tumultuous world of the Strauss family. Sam, a father burdened by domestic discontent, grapples with resentment. Rachel, his restless counterpart, yearns for something more. As night descends and shadows lengthen, the Strauss family faces a primal battle for survival—a struggle against the monstrous predators at their doorstep but also against the demons within themselves. Baker’s story, featured in the anthology “Creature Feature,” captivated readers with its ability to “tingle the spine and twist the mind.” With Landon at the helm, Big Bad promises

Is The New 'Salem's Lot' Movie Coming Straight To MAX?

Is The New ‘Salem’s Lot’ Movie Coming Straight To MAX?

The new Stephen King adaptation of the vampire tale Salem’s Lot has been in limbo for the past few years, having wrapped production in 2021. It was set for a theatrical release in 2022, but it didn’t happen. It appears it is finally heading for release, but it may not be coming to theaters. According to Variety, it is heading straight to MAX. So, will we see Salem’s Lot premiere in theaters or on MAX? That still has not been confirmed. At this point, the real question is, will we ever see it? It was first set to be released in September of 2022. It was hit with its first delay and rescheduled for April of 2023 but was pulled from the schedule before it could debut. It doesn’t bode well for a film to be delayed this many times. When a movie is treated like this by the studio, it’s usually because they know it won’t be well received,

Animal Rights Horror-Thriller ‘Liberty’ Acquired By Gravitas Ventures

Gravitas Ventures has just announced that it has acquired the North American rights to the award-winning animal rights horror-thriller Liberty, written and directed by filmmaker Philippe De Witte. In Liberty, an idealistic park guide holds six strangers captive, treating them like caged animals, to deliver his chilling message of freedom to the world. As his hostages run the gamut from confusion and disbelief to anger and hostility to grief and despair, our anti-hero compares their mental and physical breakdown to those of wild animals struggling in captivity. Walking the line between Stephen King and Henry David Thoreau, Liberty features a breakout performance by Nicholas Michael McGovern and stars Alice Barrett (“Another World”), Olan Montgomery (“Stranger Things”), Denny Dale Bess (“Law & Order: SVU”), Samantha Smart (“Katy Keene”), Jonathan Kirkland (“Tulsa King”), and Andrea McKinnon (Boyhood). “Liberty is a timely thriller, a personal take on animal welfare with larger themes of freedom and injustice. Audiences will be captivated during the film,
