Is “Welcome to Derry” Welcoming Bill Skarsgård?

Bill Skarsgård absolutely nailed his role of Pennywise in Part One and Two of the latest adaptation of Stephen King’s iconic story “IT.” The actor has sparked a frenzy of speculation with his recent remarks about MAX’s upcoming “Welcome to Derry” prequel series. When news broke about “Welcome to Derry,” one question dominated discussions: Would Skarsgård reprise his terrifying portrayal of Pennywise? After all, the series’ developer, Andy Muschietti, also directed the “IT” movies, seemingly paving the way for Skarsgård’s return. In a recent interview with Esquire, Muschietti offered some intriguing clues. He discussed his upcoming projects, including that “Welcome to Derry” is filming in Toronto – the same city where Skarsgård is coincidentally filming a mysterious project around the same time. This geographical coincidence, coupled with Skarsgård’s playful “maybe” when asked about returning as Pennywise, has fans buzzing. While Skarsgård wasn’t initially confirmed for “Welcome to Derry,” he did leave the door open for a future return. He even

Bill Skarsgård Returns as Pennywise For "Welcome to Derry"

“Welcome to Derry” Director Promises a Character Driven Series

The terrifying world of Stephen King’s IT is expanding to the small screen with the prequel series Welcome to Derry. This new chapter promises to be as scary as its big-screen counterpart while delving deeper into the characters at the heart of the story. “Welcome to Derry” serves as a prequel to the chilling two-part film adaptation directed by Andy Muschietti. The series transports viewers back to the town of Derry, Maine, in the 1960s – two decades before the events of IT: Chapter One. While plot details remain tightly under wraps, rumors suggest the series explores the origins of Pennywise, the nightmarish entity that feasts on children every twenty-seven years. Director Emmanuel Osei-Kuffour, known for his work on the incredible FX series Shōgun, is at the helm of several episodes, including the pilot. Muschietti serves as an executive producer, ensuring the series stays true to the established vision. Osei-Kuffour has hinted that fans can expect a show that prioritizes

Movie Review: The Ring Collection – Scream Factory 4k/Blu-ray combo

A cursed videotape leads to supernatural shenanigans and wacky well-walkin’. I could be talking about Hideo Nakata’s 1998 influential J-Horror masterpiece Ringu… and while we will surely get back to Nakata soon enough, today we’ll be focusing our outre eye-balls on Gore Verbinski’s (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and two of it’s sequels) 2002 Hollywood re-make, and it’s sequels, all of which are included in Scream Factory’s new 4k/Blu-ray combo box-set; The Ring Collection… like, what else did you think they would call it?!! Anyway, The Ring… Seattle-based investigative journalist Rachael (Naomi Watts) gets herself one hell of a mystery to solve after she’s asked to check into the circumstances that led to her niece’s bizarre demise. It’s a long and winding road to the truth… a truth that involves the decades old murder of a child with psychic abilities… and that child, Samara (Daveigh Chase) is thirsty for revenge from beyond the grave which

Movie Review: Carrie (2013) – Scream Factory 4K/Blu-ray combo

Remember back in 2013 when there was a new cinematic version of Stephen King’s Carrie released to theaters? Well, I sure forgot it… hell, I’ve never even seen it! Anyway, those fine fiends at Scream Factory were kind enough to fling a copy of their new 4K/Blu-ray combo release of that very title my way, so let’s dig in! Poor Carrie White (Chloe Grace Moretz); she’s decidedly the most unpopular kid at her New England High School, and things go from bad to really fucking bad after she freaks out in school about her first period… not like a class, her menstrual cycle… because, and get this, teens can be mean as shit. Things aren’t much better at home, as her religious wing-nut of a mother, Margaret (Julianne Moore, routinely abuses the hell out of her in the name of Jesus feeling everything Carrie does is a sin. If she thought a period is a sin, wait until Mags gets

Movie Review: Videodrome (1983) – Criterion 4K/Blu-ray

Max Renn (James Woods, John Carpenter’s Vampires) is the president of tiny UHF station CIVIC-TV; a channel that stays afloat thanks to it’s regular broadcasts containing ample amounts of those hoary ol’ chestnuts, sex and violence! Bored with the normal softcore smut he’s is offered for broadcast, Mmax turns his eyes skyward for inspiration… namely by using CIVIC-TV’s big-ass satellite dish to find new programs that’ll excite both himself and his viewers. To that end, he gets turned on to Videodrome; a plot-less torture program… most likely unsimulated… that is broadcast from Pittsburgh. Along the way he gets his new sadomasochistic girlfriend, the radio host Nicki Brand (Blondie’s Debbie Harry) who gets it in her head that she wants to try and audition for the show. His investigation as to the show’s origin brings him to The Cathode Ray Mission; a homeless shelter that seeks to rehabilitate derelicts through constant exposure to television… and was the home of the TV-based
