Chiller Films’ ‘Dementia 13’ Gets A Shiny New Poster

The shiny new poster (above) for Chiller Films’ upcoming thriller Dementia 13, a retelling of Francis Ford Coppola’s 1963 movie by the same name, has been released. The film centers on a “vengeful ghost, a mysterious killer, and a family brimming with secrets that converge in one night of terror”. Directed by Richard LeMay (Blood Bound), and penned by Dan DeFilippo (The Invaders) and Justin Smith (The Boy), the film stars Julia Campanelli (Walking Away), Ana Isabelle (The Eye), Marianne Noscheze (Horror Time), Channing Pickett (Go to Hell), and Christian Ryan (Celebrity Ghost Stories). Dan DeFilippo produced with Justin Smith serving as executive producer. Dementia 13 opens in theaters on October 6, 2017, followed by its VOD and Digital HD release on October 10, 2017.

‘Mother Krampus’ Is Delivering Terror This November

The holidays are headed our way and with them comes all of the joys of the season, cool weather, presents, and holiday themed horror films. Back in 2015 we witnessed Santa’s dark counterpart Krampus scare the hell out of a family. This year, Mother Krampus is coming to town and she’s not bringing cookies, she’s bringing terror. New Poster Unveils Tiny Terrors From ‘Ghastlies’

From Gremlins and Ghoulies, to Critters, Troll, and The Gate, horror movies focused on gangs of mini-monsters were commonplace throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. Unfortunately, little to no output has occurred in the subgenre in the decades since. Thankfully, Camp Motion Pictures plans on answering our prayers for pint-sized creeps with Ghastlies, out on DVD, Blu-Ray, and VOD this November. In the meantime, check out this new poster, released today on the official Ghastlies Facebook page. Directed by Brett Kelly (Kingdom of the Vampire, Attack of the Giant Leeches [2008]), and written by Chris Bavota (Minutes Past Midnight), Ghastlies is the tale of three ghoulish creatures accidentally unleashed from an underground bunker by four sorority girls while on a weekend getaway in the country. With the pure-eighties tagline “Pure evil. Bite Sized.”, the film (starring Kim Valentine) is set to be a lot of throwback fun.

Ten Horror Films Actually In Need Of A Remake

The list of really good to near-perfect horror flicks that have been given the remake treatment in the last two decades is staggering, and doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon. ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’, ‘The Fog’, ‘Halloween’, ‘Fright Night’, and so many others have been remade, reworked, or rebooted for a modern audience, nearly always resulting in a film inferior to the original. This abhorrent trend must stop, I say! Here are ten far-from-perfect movies that, unlike the aforementioned examples, could actually use a solid remake. ‘Ghoulies’ (1985) – One subgenre of horror sorely missing these days is the “small creature” movie. With the ‘Gremlins’, ‘Critters’, ‘Munchies’, and ‘Ghoulies’ series of films, creepy little creatures were everywhere in the 1980s and early 1990s.
