Texas-Sized Terror and Lovable Losers: 'Curse of the Where Wolf' Drops This August

Texas-Sized Terror and Lovable Losers: ‘Curse of the Where Wolf’ Drops This August

Let’s face it: being a werewolf sucks. For reporter Larry Chaney, the plan was simple: solve some mysteries, be a hero, and maybe get a decent headline. Instead, he got bitten. Now, caught between having incredible new supernatural powers and a sudden, overwhelming urge to eat everyone in sight, Larry has to find a cure for his curse. Or, you know, die trying. Following the breakout success of Where Wolf, writer Robert Saucedo (Birth. Movies. Death.), artist and colorist Debora Lancianese (Quicksand), and Harvey Award-winning lettering legend Jack Morelli (Afterlife with Archie) are officially reuniting for Curse of the Where Wolf. This all-new horror-comedy graphic novel pushes Larry’s hairy misadventures into even stranger, bloodier, and surprisingly more heartfelt territory. A Recap If you missed the first chapter of Larry’s lycanthropic midlife crisis, here is the recap. Where Wolf originally debuted as a black-and-white webcomic through Fangoria before being collected as a graphic novel in 2023. Thanks to its sharp blend

David Lowery to Direct Adaptation of Cosmic Horror Masterpiece 'The Fisherman'

David Lowery to Direct Adaptation of Cosmic Horror Masterpiece ‘The Fisherman’

If you’ve been waiting for Hollywood to finally tackle one of the absolute pillars of modern cosmic horror literature, it’s time to start celebrating. The Hollywood Reporter has officially broken the news that John Langan’s Bram Stoker Award-winning 2016 novel, The Fisherman, is getting a premium big-screen adaptation courtesy of Focus Features. Stepping into the director’s chair is none other than David Lowery, a filmmaker who already knows a thing or two about weaving gorgeous, deeply atmospheric, and unsettling genre tapestries. He brought us films like The Green Knight, A Ghost Story, and Mother Mary. The Ultimate Grief Trip Gone Wrong For those unfamiliar with Langan’s modern classic, do not expect a cozy weekend on the water. The narrative framework is a devastatingly intimate yet epic nightmare. The story centers on Abe and Dan. They are two grieving widowers who strike up a deep bond, using weekend fishing getaways in upstate New York as a way to cope with their

Movie Review: Highway to Hell (1992) - Visual Vengeance Blu-ray

Movie Review: Highway to Hell (1992) – Visual Vengeance Blu-ray

Psycho killin’ machine Toby Gilmore (Benton Jennings) springs himself from the Big House and sets off on a madcap murder spree. Along the way, Fran Tucker (Blue Thompson) witnesses Terrible Toby ventilate a dude’s skull on the open road and soon becomes Gilmore’s hostage. Hot on his heels is police chief Earl Dent (Italian peplum familiar face Richard Harrison), a lawman with a personal ax to grind with our footloose felon! Directed by Bret McCormick (Repligator), working from a script by Gary Kennamer (who we will get back to in a bit), Highway to Hell is down and dirty regional regional filmmaking that would be solid drive-in or Grindhouse material in days past, but in… well different “days past” it was one of many low budget flicks pumped out to video rental joints in the ‘80s and ‘90s. While the film certainly delivers some suspense and a bit o’ bloodshed… and a helicopter… the real stars are the Texas locales

Keanu Reeves Teases Upcoming Sci-fi Shark Movie

Keanu Reeves Teases Upcoming Sci-fi Shark Movie

While director Tim Miller (Deadpool) is currently keeping the official title of his next sci-fi thriller quiet, John Wick star Keanu Reeves just gave the ultimate elevator pitch. When Collider caught up with the internet’s favorite action icon to ask what exactly lured him into Miller’s mysterious new sandbox, Reeves didn’t mince words. His glorious five-word breakdown? “Sharks. Time machine. Groundhog Day.” Honestly, Keanu, you had us at sharks. The Loop: A Caribbean Bloodbath Reeves’ delightfully blunt synopsis lines up perfectly with the chaotic plot details that surfaced earlier this year. The untitled Warner Bros. project centers on a smuggler. He finds himself completely marooned in the middle of a deadly double-cross while pulling a job in the Caribbean Sea. If a botched heist wasn’t stressful enough, the poor guy wakes up surrounded by a floating graveyard of bodies. And heavily armed hostile mercenaries, and a swarm of ravenous, bloodthirsty sharks. The ultimate kicker? He’s trapped in a relentless time

Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights Has Such Sights to Show You: Hellraiser Is Coming to HHN

Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights Has Such Sights to Show You: Hellraiser Is Coming to HHN

If you’ve been sitting around wondering when Halloween Horror Nights would finally tear your soul apart, today is your lucky day. Universal Studios has officially announced that, for the first time ever, Hellraiser is coming to the event. A terror-inducing haunted house based on the legendary original film trilogy will debut this fall at both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood. It turns out we can have nice things—they just happen to come with chains and Cenobites. Puzzle Boxes and Pinhead: A Brief History of Pain For the uninitiated, Hellraiser has been traumatizing audiences since Clive Barker first opened the Lemarchand Configuration puzzle box in his 1987 directorial debut. Stripping away the standard slasher tropes of the ’80s, the franchise introduced us to a realm of sadomasochistic terror ruled by the iconic Pinhead. While the movie franchise eventually spawned over a dozen sequels—sending the Cenobites everywhere from judgment-free cyberspace to actual outer space—HHN is wisely throwing it back to

Netflix’s Upgrades Their Gaming Section with the Interactive Title 'Unhinged'

Netflix’s Upgrades Their Gaming Section with the Interactive Title ‘Unhinged’

Let’s be honest: up until now, nobody has been renewing their Netflix subscription for the gaming section. It’s mostly been a quiet graveyard of mobile ports and synergy-heavy TV tie-ins. But that’s about to change with Unhinged. Unhinged is a unique interactive horror experience. It’s one that aggressively blurs the line between prestige cinema and video games. The streaming giant is finally delivering a “trans-media” experiment with actual legs. And best of all? The barrier to entry is delightfully low. You don’t need a $500 console; you need an active subscription and the smartphone currently glued to your hand. What Exactly Is Unhinged? While Unhinged lives in the “Netflix Games” tab, don’t expect to be doing any complex button-mashing. Minimal, high-immersion interactivity is the name of the game here. After scanning a QR code on your TV, your smartphone transforms into the controller, seamlessly tracking your movements to control the protagonist’s hands. Suddenly, your phone is a literal flashlight, guiding
