This April, a couple discovers that a darkness lurks inside their new home in directors Robert Pulcini and Shari Springer Berman‘s horror film Things Heard & Seen, starring Academy Award®-nominee Amanda Seyfried and James Norton. Written by Pulcini and Berman, based on the critically acclaimed novel All Things Cease to Appear by Elizabeth Brundage, the film centers on Catherine Clare (Amanda Seyfried) who reluctantly trades life in 1980s Manhattan for a remote home in the tiny hamlet of Chosen, New York, after her husband George (James Norton) lands a job teaching art history at a small Hudson Valley college. Even as she does her best to transform the old dairy farm into a place where young daughter Franny will be happy, Catherine increasingly finds herself isolated and alone. New 'Offseason' Clip Arrives Ahead Of Its Premiere On Shudder

Movie Review (SXSW Online 2021): Offseason

Writer/director Mickey Keating’s latest horror film is Offseason, a terrific, atmospheric chiller that blends Lovecraftian themes, Southern Gothic, conspiracy thriller, and other elements. The result is a brooding stranger-in-a-familiar-yet-strange-land offering that delivers the creeps quite satisfactorily. Marie (Jocelin Donahue) and her significant other George (Joe Swanberg) travel to the island where her mother Ava (Melora Walters), a once famous actress, was buried after the cemetery caretaker wrote, saying that Ava’s grave had been desecrated. The couple must get past the Bridge Man (Richard Brake), who initially refuses them admittance to the island because storm season is starting, and once they do, they find the locals to be less than welcoming and forthcoming — with no sign of a caretaker. Marie and George attempt to leave the island the same way they came, but instead find the road blocked where it was open just moments earlier. They then find themselves in increasing danger as they try to piece together the strange

Set to be released this September, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, which has officially wrapped filming, is an adaptation of the first two games of the hit franchise. Roberts told IGN that the tone of the film was very important to him and that he drew inspiration from John Carpenter’s Assault on Precinct 13 and The Fog. The thing I loved about the games is they were just scary as hell and that is very much what I wanted. That atmosphere — it’s rain, it’s constantly dark, it’s creepy. Raccoon City is kind of this rotten character in the movie and that sort of atmosphere in the games I wanted to put in [the film].” Roberts continued, “I’m a huge
