Women Of Horror Month: Melina Juergens, From Video Editor To Award-Winning Actress

Imagine you’re at work one day and by chance, they needed someone to step in and perform a task you were not trained for and you nailed it on your first try. After impressing your coworkers you keep the position and as a result, you won the highest honors for it. This is what happened to Melina Juergens, my personal pick for Women of Horror Month. German-born Melina was working as a video editor for Ninja Theory while they were in the middle of making, what would become, their multi-award-winning video game, Hellbade: Senua’s Sacrifice. When the time came to animate the title character’s movements, Melina stepped in to don the motion capture suit and perform as the game’s heroine Senua, this inadvertently became an audition. Impressing everyone, Melina was now officially playing the title role both voicing and acting out her actions via-motion capture. ‘The Ghost Survivors’ DLC Coming To ‘Resident Evil 2’ UPDATE

If you have not got a copy of the horror game of the year, Resident Evil 2, then this news of an upcoming free Downloadable Content (DLC) should entice you. In the upcoming mode The Ghost Survivors, players will turn back the clocks during the zombie outbreak in Raccoon City and see the nightmare from three new angels. In this “what if” scenario, you take on the roles of three individuals who have not survived the outbreak. In the segment titled, “No time to mourn”, follows gun shop owner Robert Kendo whose appearance in the Resident Evil 2 remake is more tragic than in the original where he was just a cannon fodder character. In “Runaway” players for the first time can see Katherine Warren, daughter of Raccoon City’s mayor like never before…alive. Finally in “Forgotten Soldier” you get to see through the eyes of another surviving Umbrella Special Ops soldier, teasing that legendary Hunk was not the only survivor

Psychological Thriller Game, ‘Those Who Remain’, Coming Soon

Camel 101 knows that a majority of people are afraid of the dark and will be exploiting the hell out of that in their upcoming game Those Who Remain. This first-person psychological thriller will put players in the role of Edward Turner, on the outside Edward is your average Joe but beneath his normal exterior is a troubled past which comes forth after arriving in the town of Dormont. The town of Dormont is enshrouded in darkness, caused by a curse, and all the surviving townsfolk are trapped. The darkness is the enemy as it houses monsters that kill those who wandered the blackness for too long. Edward’s only salvation, stay in the light. Players must explore through the dark town and solve puzzles that will unlock more of Edward’s past, as well as means of staying alive but not everything is as it seems. Two Legendary Characters Returning To ‘Resident Evil 2’

Today fans got the chance to play the demo of the upcoming Resident Evil 2 where they only have one shot to escape the Raccoon City Police Department building in 30 minutes. I tried and failed (but did not die!). Even if you completed the challenge in the 1 Shot Demo, your reward is the latest trailer for the upcoming game. Those familiar with the original story will see that there are some minor changes but it seems the overall story is the same. To my surprise and joy, the trailer also teased at the return of two legendary characters that appear at the end of the original Resident Evil 2, HUNK and Tofu! In the original game, after completing the main story, an extra game mode would start called 4th Survivor where HUNK is the sole survivor of a special operations team sent to recover samples of the G-virus. ‘Resident Evil 2’ Demo Available Soon!

Capcom knows fans are chomping at the bit impatiently for the January 25th release of Resident Evil 2, so they’ll be releasing a demo free to download for fans! For a limited time (January 11th – January 31st) players on Steam, PS4, and Xbox One will have the chance to get the demo known as 1-Shot Demo where they can play as Leon S. Kennedy and try to escape the zombie-infested Raccoon City PD Station in 30 minutes. If you complete the 30-minute demo, you can go back and play it again, if you don’t survive, you’ll still get a chance to continue till you do. At the end of the demo, players are rewarded with a brand new trailer for Resident Evil 2. Having A Drink In Style! Product Review For TOAST’s Pint Sleeves

Just because the holidays have passed does not mean you can’t spoil yourself or someone else with a treat or two. I was able to get the opportunity to try out a unique product that has me raising a glass…or two…or three… All jokes aside, meet the awesome folks at TOAST, they make handcrafted covers/cases for phones, laptops, and game systems out of wood or leather! When I say covers/cases out of wood, I mean REAL wood, cool right?! Don’t believe me? Norman Reedus has one of their covers for his iPhone 4 (made of walnut with a skull and crossbones design on it). I was lucky enough to be allowed to try out one of their products, a leather sleeve meant for a pint glass. ‘Fortnite’ Hit With Lawsuits

The game that’s taking the gaming world by storm may soon find itself in serious legal trouble. Epic Games’ hit “Fortnite” is popular with children, gamers, and youtubers/streamers looking for a quick buck by piggybacking on the game’s success to the point of sacrificing “content” on their channels by having nothing but all videos of themselves playing the game. The game is also popular because it’s free to download but revenue is generated through what’s known in gaming as “Microtransactions”, that’s buying in-game items with real-world cash. Players of “Fortnite” buy skins for their characters and other cosmetic items. ‘Cretaceous Dinosaur Pack’ Comes To ‘Jurassic World: Evolution’

A new add-on to “Jurassic World: Evolution” that will give players three new dinosaurs were released on December 13th for the Xbox One and PC but it will come to PS4 soon. The “Cretaceous Dinosaur Pack” will allow players to expand their stable of Dinosaurs with the Iguanodon, an herbivore that’s constantly giving a “thumbs up”. The Carcharodontosaurus, a nasty carnivore that’s not afraid to go after larger herbivores. Finally, it’s all about going big with the Dreadnoughtus, a long-necked herbivore. Prices for the “Cretaceous Dinosaur Pack” will vary, but fear not, there’s plenty of free new content! The new “Challenge Mode” has expanded and features all the islands now, and if you have the “Secrets of Dr. Wu” DLC, the levels from that game are included in the challenge mode as well. Sabre & Focus Home Interactive Team Up To Bring ‘World War Z’ To Console

Focus Home Interactive will be teaming up with Sabre Interactive to help bring the upcoming co-op online “zombie” survival game, “World War Z” digitally to consoles next year. Along with the news of the teaming up developers comes more information on the classes players can choose from in order to survive the hoard of infected. Each class has its perks that can assist the team. Gunslinger, a character loaded with weapon perks and ammo boosting power. Hellraiser, an explosive expert that comes with C4 and other explosives to clear the way. Slasher, deals damage with their bladed weapons and perks along with their taser. ‘Monster Hunter’ Expansion ‘Iceborne’ Coming 2019 Along With Geralt!

CAPCOM announced today that an expansion is coming for their best selling game, “Monster Hunter: World” with new quest ranks, locales, monsters, moves, and gear in “Monster Hunter World: Iceborne” The narrative of Iceborne begins where MHW’s narrative ends, so like most game expansions, you need the main game in order to get it. In the meantime, on December 20th the Kulve Taroth Siege online multiplayer event will take place where teams of 4 can try to defeat an Arched Tempered version of the beast that holds powerful awards for the team IF successful. CAPCOM is offering a free trial of “Monster Hunter: World” starting tomorrow on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One beginning at 4 pm PST through December 17 at 3:59 pm PST.
