“Mr. Mercedes” Writer Adapting Stephen King’s ‘Elevation’ For A Feature Film

If there’s one thing that you count on it’s that there will always be a Stephen King adaptation on its way. There are currently at least four that we know of, Firestarter, “The Jaunt“, The Running Man, and The Long Walk. Today, we add a new title to the list, the feature film adaptation of King’s 2018 novella Elevation. Jack Bender, who directed 23 episodes of the series adaptation of King’s “Mr. Mercedes”, as well as 9 episodes of the “Under the Dome” series, recently revealed to Cinema Blend that he’s making the movie based on the 144-page novella about a man with a mysterious illness and a town who aims to prevent a lesbian couple from opening a restaurant. I’ve recently adapted a book of [King’s] called Elevation, which we’re going to make into a film,” Bender explains. “And I invented some stuff and added, and was nervous because he’d never read anything I’ve written, only directed and produced.

The Queen Mary Sets Sail For New Horror Trilogy

‘Bubba The Redneck Werewolf’ Provides A Hair-Raising Good Time – Now On Hulu

One of the best indie comedies to come out of 2017 is the devilishly good horror flick Bubba the Redneck Werewolf. Now the fun flick is making waves on Hulu and well, you just have to watch it. Devilworks Sets Spring Release For Horror Anthology ‘100 Candles’

Genre outfit Devilworks has set a Spring release date for the horror anthology 100 Candles (originally titled 100 Candles Game) straight out of EFM, ScreenDaily reports. In the film, “A sinister game traps a group of friends, that tell one another horror stories in front of a magical mirror. One candle, one nightmare, there are 100 to go; they cannot leave the game, otherwise, a witch’s curse will fall upon them.” Strangeland, Mirrors, and The Butterfly Effect‘s Amy Smart stars as does Les Misèrables and “Vikings” actor George Blagden, Sibyl Gregory (“The Magicians”), and Dee Bradley Baker (“American Dad”). Werewolf Movie ‘Bloodthirsty’ Sinks Its Teeth Into A New Clip & Release Date

The werewolf horror Bloodthirsty has scored a release date from Brainstorm Media following its world premiere at Fantastic Fest. Check out the new clip below. The female-driven film centers on vegan singer-songwriter Grey (Lauren Beatty) who goes to work on her second album with the notorious music producer Vaughn Daniels (Greg Bryk). An Interview With The Vigil’s Director Keith Thomas And Actor Dave Davis

One of the best films to come of the horror genre this year is writer-director Keith Thomas‘ feature film debut, The Vigil, starring Dave Davis. I had the opportunity to speak with both Thomas and Davis, so of course, I jumped at the chance. Neill Blomkamp Announces ‘District 9’ Sequel, ‘District 10’

It’s been over a decade since Neill Blomkamp blurred the line between sci-fi and horror with District 9. Now, it appears that the story of the unfortunate government worker Wikus Van De Merwe (Sharlto Copley) turned alien hybrid, will continue in the sequel, District 10. Blomkamp revealed on Twitter that a sequel is indeed finally on its way with Copley returning along with the original’s co-writer Terri Tatchell penning the screenplay. In District 9, an extraterrestrial race is forced to live in refugee camps/slums on Earth. A government agent is exposed to their technology which begins to transform him into one of them. During an interview with Blomkamp, the director talked with us about some of his projects. Since then he has several new films in the works including a Robocop movie and Demonic, a horror film he made in secret that has just been announced. Branko Tomovic‘s arthouse horror film Vampir has been picked up for distribution by Reel Suspects, Variety reports. The outlet also shared the first image from the film. The European film was inspired by real vampire cases that occurred in Serbia in the 1700s.
