Bernard Rose, the writer/director behind ‘Candy Man’ and ‘Boxing Day’, has a new spin on the classic tale of Frankenstein. The new ‘Frankeinstein’ is set in modern day L.A. and is told from the monster’s point of view. Two scientists, husband and wife, artificially create a man that they have named Adam.Adam is not constructed of loose body parts, unlike in the other Frankenstein movies we’ve seen before. Instead, Adam is made on a printer designed to print organic manner. It is discovered that something has gone wrong when Adam begins to develop sores and growths. The decision is made to euthanize the poor creature, but Adam breaks lose and flees. Now he must face a violent and cruel world. Adam is guided through his new world by Eddie, a blind beggar.
‘American Horror Story’ actor Danny Huston, who plays Dr. Frankenstein, will star along side Tony Todd (Candy Man) as Eddie. Carrie-Ann Moss (The Matrix Trilogy) has been cast as Mrs. Frankenstein. Xavier Samuel, who had roles in ‘Twilight’ and ‘Fury’ will play Adam. Adam Nagaitis, Maya Erskine, John Lacy, Peter Adrian Sudarso and James Lew also star in ‘Frankenstein’.
Rose’s ‘Frankenstein’ debuted at this year’s Frightfest Film Festival. A release date has not been announced at this time, though we can expect to see it in late 2015 to early 2016.
