Florence Pugh, who gave a brilliant performance in Midsommar, is set to star in the Apple TV+ movie Dolly, whose plot is absolutely wild.
The film is part sci-fi, part horror, and part drama, and features a robotic “companion doll” that kills its owner and then shocks the world by claiming that she is not guilty and asks for a lawyer.
The movie, which sounds very interesting, is written by Vanessa Taylor and Drew Pearce. Apple TV+ is still on the hunt for a director.
Deadline states that the movie is inspired by a short story of the same name by Elizabeth Bear and that the film features “elements of classic courtroom drama and sci-fi.”
