Arachnid and horror fans have plenty to celebrate. Specifically, the arachnophobia-inducing creature feature Crawlers is officially coming home. Initially titled Arachnid, this terrifying project promises absolute skin-crawling mayhem.

The Infestation

Director Angel Gómez Hernández helms this bloody, claustrophobic nightmare. Meanwhile, screenwriter Jayson Rothwell delivers a relentless urban survival story. Suddenly, a toxic infestation of venomous spiders erupts inside an apartment complex. As a result, police immediately lock down the entire building. Unsuspecting residents find themselves trapped alongside thousands of deadly arachnids. Building manager Serena must desperately lead the remaining survivors. Her intimate knowledge of the complex becomes their only tool for survival. However, she must first confront her own paralyzing fear of spiders.

Unapologetic R-Rated Gore

Creature feature enthusiasts can expect an unapologetically brutal experience. Officially, the film earned an intense “R” rating for explicit reasons. Specifically, expect heavy violent content, bloody images, strong language, and brief sexual material. That’s put on full display in a clip we recently shared of a spider hatching from an eyeball (watch it here). This film definitely avoids pulling any gruesome punches. The production relies heavily on grotesque practical creature effects. As a result, every multiplying spider feels horribly real and terrifyingly lethal.

Heavyweight Studio Pedigree

This project is an ambitious debut for Badlands production company. Industry veterans Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Scott Strauss lead the creative team. Naturally, these executive producers bring legendary experience from massive action franchises. Together, they partnered directly with Roadside Attractions and Saban Films. As a result, studio executives describe the feature as a visceral, high-octane horror ride. Brilliantly, the storytelling combines intense spatial dread with high-stakes human drama.

Bringing the Infestation Home

Fortunately, fans will not have to wait long to experience the chaos. Specifically, Crawlers officially lands on digital streaming services on November 10. Physical media collectors can pre-order the Blu-ray and DVD, which arrive on December 22, making it a perfect gift for the horror fan on your Christmas list.
