Paramount+ is serious about becoming a force to be reckoned with. The streaming service is adding a ton of exclusive horror projects over the next two years, including a new installment to the Paranormal Activity franchise. But that’s not all. Deadline is reporting that a new installment of the Pet Sematary franchise is coming as well, this time in the form of a prequel.
Jeff Buhler, who wrote the 2019 adaptation is back to write the script for the origin story. There is no word yet about plot details or who will star in the Paramount Original.
So far, we’ve seen two adaptations of the Stephen King story, the first from Mary Lambert in 1989, followed by its sequel in 1992. It also got an adaptation in 2019 from Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch.
