DVD Review: Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! (2020)

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this blog post. The opinions I share are my own. Scooby (Frank Welker) and the gang, Fred (also voiced by Welker), Daphne (Grey Griffin), Velma (Kate Micucci), and Shaggy (Matthew Lillard) are up to their arcane armpits in preternatural peril when ye olde friendly neighborhood pumpkin patch is covered in toxic waste (accompanied by a cue that definitely brings to mind 1985’s Return of the Living Dead) which results in the pumpkins coming to life and they have the horror biz foremost on their monstrous minds! Seems like a solid Scooby-Doo scenario… how about if I told you that Elvira (the legendary Cassandra Peterson herself, ‘natch) shows up, as does Bill Nye the Science Guy (himself, though amped-up to 11)… and the Scarecrow (The A-Team‘s world famous Howlin’ Mad Murdock, Dwight Shultz)… like from Batman… yeah, what the what now?!! Blu-ray Review: Primitives (1980)

A trio of anthropology students; Robert, Rita, and Tommy (thanks for fuckin’ up a good thing Tom) get a wild hair up their collective asses that the primitive tribe their guide has led them to is too well known, and that the best course would be to be to travel further into the Indonesian jungle and really go native! Of course this goes over like a turd in a punchbowl, and after a rafting accident the gang makes like Journey and (unintentionally) go their separate ways… with Robert and Rita (Team R forevahhh) running afoul of the titular primitive tribe of (alleged) cannibals, and Tommy beating the bush looking high and low for his pals. Blu-ray Review: Massacre in Dinosaur Valley (1985)

2019: After the Fall of New York‘s Michael Sopkiw stars as Kevin Hall, a dude that loves playing with his bone… or more accurately, bones; and of the dinosaur variety at that! Movie Review: Spiral (2019)

Things aren’t exactly salad and cream (that’s a thing that’s good, right?) for Malik (Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman) and his partner Aaron (Ari Cohen) who move to the ultra-suburbs with A-dawgs teenage daughter Kayla (Jennifer Laporte). Being the 1990’s and all, the townsfolk are not exactly hip to the same-sex couple bag, though they hide it well… but not well enough to keep Malik from slip sliding away into paranoid delusions… or are they? Movie Review: Attack of the Unknown (2020)

Vernon (Richard Grieco) and his top-shelf SWAT crew have managed to bust big bad Miguel ‘Hades’ Aguirre (Robert LaSardo)… but lotsa luck gettin’ his beastly buttocks to the hoosegow, as that task is going to be a wee bit of a royal ass-pain ‘cuz blood-crazed aliens have chosen this day to launch an invasion of Earth! Soon our heroes find themselves playin’ interstellar Assault on Precinct 13 as they plant their asses in a county jail, and while the main impetus may be “Operation: Save Ass”, the fate of the planet may very well be decided this night! Mr. HoleHead’s Warped Dimension Short Film Review: The Song of Her (2019)

In a dystopian, or is that draconian… hell let’s just say it’s both… anyway, in a dystopian/draconian era, Flora (Yelena Ferrer) spends her time playing organ in a titanic, seemingly abandoned church… well that, and hooking Chi (Sui Nakashima) up to a scanner cum torture device called Goda, and grilling her for info, as well as playing armchair therapist to her victim. Naturally the two fall in love, much to the chagrin of Flora’s superior, General Stewart Bailey (Ravin Patterson) who maims Flora with the ol’ cigarette to the putrid peeper bag! Anyway, things come to a head, and soon the two find themselves at the mercy of Satanic mother fucker Lord Goody (Bruce Hermann), but is all hope really lost? The Song of Her is one delicious slice of sinister short film (this picture runs about 21 minutes) perfection! Mr. HoleHead’s Warped Dimension Review: Flesh City (2019)

Before I kick of this revoltin’ review, let me state that if you are negatively effected by rapid strobing light and images, you may want to avoid this film. The basics of Flesh City goes as follows: Vyren (Christian Serritiello) meets Loquette (Eva Ferox) in a Berlin industrial nightclub, get a dude named Cyril (Shaun Lawton) right pissed over a video game, then decide it would be a shit hot idea to explore the club’s basement. Is that what kids are into these days? Weirdos… Speaking of weird, there is some sort of magic crystal down there that can open a gate… oh and our heroes are menaced by Prof. Yagov (Arthur Patching) and his fuckin’ robot. Mr. HoleHead’s Warped Dimension Review: Troma’s Mutant Blast (2018)

Para-military bad-ass Maria (Maria Leite) frees science experiment TS-347 (Joaquim Guerreiro); a man with superhuman strength…and as a result an entire military complex and their zombies (though that word is taboo in this pic my creeps!) are after their asses but good! Enter: Pedro (Pedro Barão Dias), a real party animal cum ambition deficient dude that is ill prepared for the apocalypse of shambling dead he’s about to find himself balls deep in.
