This September a mystery will unfold in Netflix‘s new thrilling series, “Devil in Ohio,” based on the true story of a young woman trying to escape a cult. ‘ Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Daria Polatin, who serves as showrunner, the limited series centers on Mae (Madeleine Arthur). With Prey causing a storm with fans and critics alike, many film sites are publishing lists of “Predator” movies along the line of which is the best or worst of the film series. A common thing with these lists is the inclusion of the two AVP (Aliens Versus Predator) movies which has caused people to argue in the comment sections of those articles whether or not the films are or are not canon to both the “Alien” and “Predator” franchises. I already knew the answer to this like many other fans of the two film series. The short answer to the question of whether is AVP canon or not is a resounding, NO. Aliens Versus Predator is set in its own universe. Showtime’s series adaptation of Let the Right One In is picking up momentum. Based on the iconic 2004 novel by Swedish author John Ajvide Lindqvist, Away‘s Andrew Hinderaker is bringing the epic vampire tale to TV. EW has just shared the first images from the series via Instagram. Set in New York City, the series stars Demián Bichir, Anika Noni Rose, Grace Gummer, Madison Taylor Baez, Kevin Carroll, Ian Foreman, Jacob Buster, and Nick Stahl. Stahl stars as Matthew in Let the Right One In, as “a former soldier and fiercely loyal fixer for the Logan family, whose clean-cut, mild-mannered exterior belies a savagery beneath.” The [original] film is about a relationship between an isolated bullied boy and an isolated lonely girl, who we learn is a vampire. Daedalic Entertainment and NACON have announced the unfortunate news that their upcoming game The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be delayed “A few months” as they wish to take the time to polish the game and ensure a smooth launch. Fans who might be upset by this news should remember a wise quote from Gandalf The Gray, “A wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins. Nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.” The Lord of the Rings: Gollum puts players in the role of the infamous Gollum as he sneaks through famous locations in Middle Earth like Mordor, Mirkwood, and The Mines of Moria. There have been a ton of trailers that debuted at SDCC, including for “Interview With the Vampire,” the trailer for the upcoming “Lord of the Rings” series, SYFY’s “Reginald the Vampire,” and the upcoming Teen Wolf movie. We can now add Netflix’s “The Sandman” trailer to the list. Based on the graphic novels of Neil Gaiman, the highly anticipated series is described as “A rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama, and legend are seamlessly interwoven; the Sandman follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic — and human — mistakes he’s made during his vast existence.” The cast includes Tom Sturridge as Drea, Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer, Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, Boyd Holbrook as The Corinthian, Charles dance as Rodrick Burgess, and Asim Chaudry as Abel. Among the trailers released at SDCC, AMC+ has unveiled the new trailer for their upcoming series “Interview with the Vampire.” “Interview With the Vampire” centers on Louis, as he recounts his story and tumultuous relationship with his maker – Lestat – to an eager interviewer and biographer. The series will feature eight episodes in its first season and is only part of AMC+’s acquisition of Rice’s library including the upcoming “Mayfair Witches” series and will be one of several series adaptations based on Rice’s works. Sam Reid plays Lestat and Jacob Anderson stars as Louis, Bailey Bass plays Claudia and Assad Zaman will play Rashid, with Eric Bogosian playing the journalist, Daniel. The series will be executive produced by Rolin Jones and Mark Johnson. “Interview With the Vampire” premieres on Sunday, October 2 at 10 p.m., immediately following the return of the final season of “The Walking Dead.”
