In 1886, the notorious motherfucker known as Frank Clements (Mike Ammons)… wait, Frank Clements (cue loud as shit record scratch for maximum “laughs”)?!! That’s the name you’d give a wild west outlaw? Not even a “Frightnin’ Frank” Clements… shit, the name sounds like an attorney that could get you off from a drunk driving rap… where the fuck was I? 1886… Frank Clements… oh, yeah, Frank is hung out to dry (literally) by an angry mob lead by one Rev. Thadeous Sutton (Bill Shaw), and he vows unholy revenge on the descendants of those what done him wrong! Fast forward to… whhhooooaa duuuude, it’s the present day, which of course is 1986 as everyone knows. In 1986 we get some high voltage horseshit involving both a geezer, Professor Sutton (Shaw in a dual role) by name, letting two yokels fish on his land intercut with some airport hijinks (the best kind) where we see the high-larious antics of ace pilot/Shooter

The upper middle class, but emotionally struggling, Engel clan (remember that Germanic handle cats n’ creeps) are all ready to weather the holidays, obnoxious extended family in tow… but young Max Engle (Emjay Anthony) has decidedly lost his Christmas spirit thanks almost entirely to his family’s non-stop bitch-o-rama. This results in Max having a conniption fit and tearing this year’s letter to Santa into pieces… therefore damning the entire town to a hell of endless snow and diabolic demons thanks to that tongue-lashin’ Teutonic terror; Krampus! Now the whole Engle fam has to put down the eggnog and take up arms against all manner of yuletide hooligans that bring the ho-ho-horror that will make surviving the holidays a real pain in the mistletoe… toes, feet, arms… pretty much any body part can feel pain… and be eaten like a Christmas goose! The next installment of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre is heading exclusively to Netflix from director David Blue Garcia today. WARNING SPOILERS! The movie serves as a direct sequel to the original and picks up nearly fifty years after the first massacre. The movie sees a busload of investors arriving in the mostly abandoned town of Harlow, the home of Leatherface. They are looking to bring the town back to life and build a type of utopia, but when the three main characters make the mistake of accidentally causing the death of an elderly woman who has run an orphanage for decades, Leatherface comes after them with a vengeance. The original survivor, Sally, has never given up the hunt for the killer, but she’s about to come face to face with Leatherface after he begins a slaughter as we’ve never seen before in the franchise, delivering a massive body count. Hot of the feels of the release of their hit series “Chapelwaite,” which landed on our “Top 10 Shows of 2021” list, Epix is gearing up to release their new horror series “From,” which has now earned its spot on our list for 2022. The synopsis goes like this: “FROM unravels the mystery of a nightmarish town in middle America that traps all those who enter. As the unwilling residents fight to keep a sense of normalcy and search for a way out, they must also survive the threats of the surrounding forest; including the terrifying creatures that come out when the sun goes down.” As I sat down to watch the first three episodes, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the cast list was enough to let me know it was worth checking out. From writer-director Sean Ellis comes the Gothic werewolf horror film The Cursed (aka Eight For Silver). When the trailer debuted it automatically went on my “must-see” list. The trailer looked fantastic, but because we get so few great werewolf films these days I was expecting to be somewhat disappointed. I’m here to tell you, it exceeded my every expectation. The film begins with soldiers in the trenches in 1917, being pelted by gas, grenades, and gunfire. We see a soldier being carried into a tent, wounded with three gunshots. The next scene jumps thirty-five years in the past. A group of gypsies is slaughtered by men out to take their land. Before the last is killed, an old woman utters a curse as she’s buried alive. Soon, everyone in the village begins to have terrible dreams of the slaughter. When a group of children ventures to the spot of the killings occurred, they discover a set of silver teeth. A

The Collector’s Series of 1999’s Candyman 3: Day of the Dead has just been released. The question is, should you buy it? The film opens with a young woman, Caroline (Donna D’Errico) unhappy with the way a gallery owner is presenting the art by her ancestor, Daniel Robitaille, who became known as the legendary Candyman. His great, great, granddaughter also wants people to see him for who he was, a gifted artist. However, when she is pushed into calling his name by the gallery owner, her romantic notions of the artist give way to the horror of who he has become, a supernatural killer. This all begins just days before the Day of the Dead, the day that is celebrated as a day to honor the dead. While you can tell the movie was made in the ’90s, before special effects and camera quality reached today’s standards, it’s still entertaining. Nightdive Studios and Throwback Entertainment are back with another classic game for modern players, this time a classic FPS from 1996 that takes players to pixilated Egypt where they must halt an alien invasion and help the spirit of King Ramses defeat the growing evil that’s about to be unleashed on the world! A bit shoutout to Nightdive and Throwback for the reviewing opportunity! In PowerSlave Exhumed the controls are optimized for modern controllers, luckily there’s a lull at the start of the game that can allow you to play around with the controls to get a feel of the layout. Other than that, this game is a fun callback for those of us who grew up playing FPS games like Wolfenstein and DOOM on MS-DOS. The soundtrack, sound effects, (4k) graphics of pixilated violence, it’s everything old-school gamers loved from our humble beginnings. Thousands of horror films are released every year with some being a hit and some being a miss, the latter is where the new film Last Radio Call falls. In the film, a cop goes missing during a call at an abandoned hospital. One year after his disappearance, his wife decides to make a documentary and seek answers to what happened. This is where my first “What the hell?” moment happens. A year, she waits a year? If it was my husband, my ass would be hunting for him within the first 24 hours. But anyway. After a year, she goes about interviewing his boss and partner but no one will talk to her. Finally, she actually goes to the hospital where things go from bad to worse for the woman. A lot of the movie is just this woman talking to a camera in her room. In all, there may have been fifteen minutes of real action and the

One voodoo rite later, Officer Matt Cordell (Robert Z’Dar), better known as the Maniac Cop, is resurrected from the grave and is back on the beat… and by beat, I mean beating people to death, of course… Meanwhile, Detective Sean McKinney (a returning Robert Davi… which after hearing his thoughts on Maniac Cop 2 I simply can’t believe… ) is dealing with the fallout of a robbery going very wrong… so wrong his protégé, Officer Kate Sullivan (Gretchen Becker) is left braindead and saddled with the rap of having shot both perpetrator and hostage (whom the press have no idea was actually an accomplice to the crime). As the body count rises in and around that harrowing hospital Kate now calls home, McKinney will be up to his hard-boiled ass in ghoulish goings on thanks to ol’ Maniac C-dawg and the homeless Houngan (Julius Harris) that’s pullin’ the strings! Plot “A Lovecraftian horror tale inspired by Native American Myths and colonial times.” This is the description given for Ahmed Alameed’s horror novella Harvest Nights. When comparing to anything, immediate expectations are set and comparing to Lovecraft sets those expectations to lofty heights. With that said, Harvest Nights meets and surpasses those expectations. This unpredictable historical fiction is based in Native American Lore and woven into a gory, twisted, journey into unearthly and unnerving darkness. Based around the famous Comet of 1822, the cosmic event thins the veil between our world and the supernatural world releasing creatures who will do anything to eat. The plot is experienced and told through the young boy Chua (Snake), who teams with a group of people who will do anything to survive. Characters The characters in this story are built exceptionally well.
