Michel Dougherty Working On New ‘Trick ‘R Treat’ Sequel

Fans have been asking for a sequel to Michael Dougherty‘s Halloween horror classic anthology Trick ‘r Treat since the original premiered. Well, we’ve got good news. During the Beyond Fest screening of the classic, the director announced that a sequel is indeed on its way with it currently in active development! Dougherty explained that he is working with Legendary but that it hasn’t been greenlit just yet. This isn’t the first time plans for a sequel have been announced, but we’ve got our fingers crossed that we will see it happen this time. The 2009 original is heading back to Regal theaters on October 6th and to AMC theaters on October 21st, marking the first time it has received a wide theatrical release. Eli Roth & 50 Cent Team Up For A Three Movie Deal

Horror maestro Eli Roth and rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson have teamed up for a three-picture deal with 3BlackDot, Deadline reports. And the films, The Gun, Trackmaster, and Creature House are all horror movies! Deadline reports, “The movies hail from a diverse group of writers—Kirkland Morris (BMF; Power Book IV: Force), Justin Calen-Chenn (Bel-Air, Limited Edition), Dallas Jackson (Blumhouse’s Thriller; The System), and Kevin Grevioux (King of Killers; Underworld)—whose stories focus on increasing BIPOC representation. One of the latest indie horrors to hit the scene is Thomas Walton‘s Camp Pleasant Lake starring Jonathan Lipnicki (“The Resident,” Jerry Maguire), Bonnie Aarons (The Conjuring, The Nun), and Michael Pare (Eddie and the Cruisers). Movie Review: ‘Hocus Pocus 2’ Conjures Mistakes & Mediocrity

Twenty-nine years after the black flame candle was lit, the Sanderson sisters are back in Hocus Pocus 2, and I have some thoughts. Directed by Anne Fletcher, the sequel sees the return of Bette Midler (Winifred), Sarah Jessica Parker (Sarah), and Kathy Njimy (Mary), as well as Doug Jones who plays Billy. They are joined by Sam Richardson, Whitney Peak, Belissa Escobedo, Lila Buckingham, Hannah Waddingham, and Anne Fletcher. In the film, a shop owner gives a teen a candle for her 16th birthday, when she lights the candle the Sanderson sisters return. Now, it is up to the three high-school students to stop the wicked witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve. The thing is, the movie relies heavily on nostalgia right out of the gate. I’m a realist and went into watching knowing there was no way it would be as special as the original and I was right.

Movie Review: Mean Girls Meets The Exorcist In ‘My Best Friend’s Exorcism’

As if being a teenage girl isn’t bad enough, the loyalty of a group of friends is put to the test when one of them, Gretchen (Amiah Miller) is possessed. It’s up to her best friend Abby (Elsie Fisher) to save her in My Best Friend’s Possession, based on the novel by Best-Selling author Grady Hendrix. When we are first introduced to the movie’s characters, it’s driven home that the girls are inseparable. And after a night of playing with an Ouija Board (always a bad idea) and visiting the sight of a legendary murder, Abby begins to notice that her BFF is acting strange, leading to a battle for Gretchen’s soul. The cast did a fine job in their roles with Elsie Fisher and Amiah Miller standing out. Each character in their friends’ group obviously fits your basic stereotypes, the pretty one, the shy one, the quiet one struggling with the fact she’s a lesbian in love with her

“Dead Bride” Rises From The Grave This October (Trailer)

Breaking Glass Pictures has announced the release of the haunting Italian ghost story Dead Bride from writer-director Francesco Picone (“Anger of the Dead”). After her father’s death, Alyson, her partner Richard and their baby return to her childhood home. Following a few shocking supernatural events, Alyson discovers that she and her family have been living with a terrible curse, unleashed in the past by a bride killed by Alyson’s grandfather. Soon after Alyson’s child disappears and she has no choice but to embark on a frightening journey into the underworld, to free herself from the bride’s curse, and to look for her daughter. ‘The Crow’ Is One Step Closer To Theaters!

It would be no surprise if you doubt the news we broke back in earlier this year, because, let’s face it after numerous false starts, there was room for doubt. Well, doubt no more. The Crow has officially wrapped production, according to The Prague Reporter! The website detailed some of the filming locations. “During a lengthy 10-week shoot, The Crow shot across numerous locations in the Old Town and New Town neighborhoods of the Czech capital. One of the major set pieces for The Crow was shot at Prague’s Rudolfinum concert hall, and involved the participation of hundreds of extras in formal attire.” Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) is in the director’s chair with Bill Skarsgård (IT) starring as the lead character Eric Draven, originally played by Brandon Lee in the 1994 original.
