Will Stephen King ever stop crafting terrifying tales? God, we hope not. During a recent chat with The Losers’ Club Podcast, the master of horror revealed that his new tale, Rattlesnakes, is actually a sequel to his classic rabid dog novel Cujo! “I just wrote a long story called Rattlesnakes. And it involves, at one part, twins who are only four years old… falling into a rattlesnake pit. And the snakes get them. It’s a terrible scene.” King continues, “This novella that I’ve just written, Rattlesnakes… is a sequel to Cujo.” While that’s all the details we know about the new tale, that’s enough for us to want to read it. Scream Queen Emma Roberts, who starred in films like Scream 4 and appeared in “American Horror Story,” is set to star in Director Spencer Squire’s horror film Abandoned. Abandoned follows Sara (Emma Roberts), her husband Alex (John Gallagher Jr.), and their infant son as they move into a remote farmhouse, which harbors a dark, tragic history. As their home’s past is revealed, the mother’s fragility escalates to a state of psychosis that jeopardizes her own safety and that of her newborn son. The film, written by Erik Patterson and Jessica Scott, also stars Michael Shannon (Nocturnal Animals). Abandoned will open in theaters on June 17, 2022, followed by its release on Digital and On-Demand on June 24th from Vertical Entertainment.

Director Rhys Frake-Waterfield is about to ruin your childhood. He’s turning the lovable, honey-loving character Winnie the Pooh into a psycho killer in the upcoming brutal horror movie Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. The movie that has zero to do with Disney, is made possible because Winnie the Pooh is now one of the characters that are in now public domain, meaning anyone can do whatever they want with him, Waterfield just happened to decide to make him into a brutal killer. While there have yet to be any details of the plot revealed, it appears that the movie centers on a Winnie the Pooh mask-wearing killer, or maybe it’s Pooh himself. It’s hard to tell from the images. Tribeca Festival has a tantalizing, sure-to-be-terrifying array of horror movies, thrillers, and related genre offerings slated for this year’s Midnight section of the renowned fest, which takes place June 8–19, 2022 in New York City. Along with the Midnight section, the TribecXploitation series offers three NYC-shot grindhouse classics on the big screen, presented by their directors. Following are brief descriptions of each film, followed by my thoughts in italics. Midnight Attachment Maja and Leah’s new relationship is interrupted when mysterious things start happening in their London flat. It seems that Leah’s disapproving mother, who lives downstairs, is using Jewish folklore to come between them. Folk horror is red hot at the moment, and religious horror is always a popular subgenre. It sounds as though this slice of Danish fear fare may have elements of both, and the acting is said to be particularly strong. Some of the biggest genre films in history, like Roman Polanski’s classic Rosemary’s Baby, have long forgotten sequels. That’s right, there’s a sequel. We’ve put together a list of popular horror films with sequels that no one remembers and for some movies, that’s a good thing. Two years after Christian Bale had an ax to grind in Mary Harron’s American Psycho a sequel, American Psycho II: All American Girl was released that just didn’t capture the original’s je ne sais quoi. During yesterday’s Licensing Expo in Vegas, promo art from Tim Burton‘s upcoming Netflix series “Wednesday” teased a Fall premiere date, according to Collider. The art is the same that was featured on the teaser poster that Netflix released a while back, except this time we actually get a time frame. The series sees the “Addams Family” star, Christina Ricci returns as a yet-to-be-named character. The actress’s iconic role of Wednesday will this time be played by Jenna Ortega (Scream). “The Addams Family” spin-off also stars Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzman in the roles of Morticia and Gomez. “Game of Thrones” actress Gwendoline Christie will play the role of “Larissa Weems,” the principal of Nevermore Academy. The cast also includes Joy Sunday, Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Naomi J.
