The little creepy dummy Slappy is back one last time in Krikey’s latest multiplayer augmented reality game, “Goosebumps Escape the Cage”. As the name implies, you’re stuck inside a cage all thanks to Slappy and it’s up to you and a friend to escape. Like the previous games, you solve puzzles within a set amount of time as well as escaping a maze. Each level has a jump scare that’s unique to it and gameplay is different each time you play. The game is available for free on the App Store and Google Play. Krikey teamed up with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment in a “Goosebumps AR Takeover” campaign to help promote the release of “Goosebumps 2” that’s coming to digital on Christmas and Blu-ray January 15th.

The creative folks over at The Bearded Ladies and Funcom were nice enough to allow me to review their new real-time strategy game, “Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden”. This story merges tactical strategy, stealth, and turn-based combat along with exploration and scavenging. Without any spoilers, the story takes place in the future after humanity pretty much messed everything up and years later the new generation is picking up the pieces. The world is known as “the zone” where it’s not safe to be, the only safe place is a haven called the “Ark”. A special group of explorers known as Stalkers ventures out into the zone to gather supplies and ensure that a race of marauders known as the ghouls are kept at bay. Now come our heroes, a mutant boar named Borman and a Dux the duck. While looking for a lost group of stalkers they meet up with one of the missing stalkers, Selma, she looks human

The most infamous and popular villain from AMC’s “The Walking Dead” Negan and his barbed wire-wrapped baseball bat Lucille are making a comeback in the fighting game “Tekken 7: Season Pass 2“. Tekken is a fighting game series that was popular back in the arcade days before it came into our homes as console games. The game is known for its large roster of anime-like characters with unique abilities and finishing moves. “Tekken 7” is already out on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC but “Season Pass 2” (which can be bought separately if you already own the game or bundled with the game when you buy it) will be bringing back some popular characters from the game’s past and introducing Negan. Negan’s release date is unknown at this time but it’s safe to say his introduction to the game will be just as dramatic as it was for “The Walking Dead”.

Sometimes gamers just want to take a break away from most games and want to exercise…their brains. Casual puzzle games have always been a great fallback for most but this game from indie game developer Sometimes You is not only eye-catching…its head scratching. I present to you, “Energy Cycle Edge”, a 3-D puzzle game that will be coming out December 5th for all consoles including PC. The objective of the game is to match all the cells on the playing field to the same color. That’s where the simplicity ends. Every time you click a cell to change its color, the whole row will change as well. That doesn’t sound bad? Look below, that’s level 1. This is level 44, the final level. I know what you’re thinking, “A product review?!” yes, and buckle up! The awesome folks at NoSweat sent me one of their hat liners to try out for you guys. NoSweat makes liners for hats, (sports) helmets, and hard hats. The liners are designed to wick away sweat and prevent it from dripping down your face, and in this case, protecting your hat from becoming discolored or stained with sweat. These liners are currently being used by professional athletes Scott Langley, Stewart Cink, Brandon McManus, Dallas Keuchel, Golden Tate, TJ Oshie, Matt Adams, and Kerry Feirman. Now onward to the review! The liners come in an easy to open (and resalable) bag. The instructions are pretty much repeated all over the bag even with a picture showing you how it should be put into the ball cap. Fans of the Alien franchise are learning today that 20th Century Fox recently purchased the trademark for the title “Alien: Blackout” under the category for video games. With the trademark purchase possibly means within a month or two there will be an announcement. Many are assuming the game’s announcement will be at the upcoming award ceremony The Game Awards as the slogan for the event this year is “Worlds Will Change” which first appeared on Geoff Keighley’s (The host of the ceremony) twitter. Fright-Rags has explored sour ground to unearth new merchandise from Pet Sematary, Night of the Living Dead, and Die Hard. Dead is better with Fright-Rags‘ Pet Sematary collection. From little Gage and Church the cat to Victor Pascow and Zelda, all of the nightmarish imagery from the 1989 Stephen King adaptation is represented on four new T-shirts. Fright-Rags continues its Night of the Living Dead 50th anniversary celebration with a new shirt, two enamel pins, and a pair of socks from George A. Romero’s seminal classic. Krikey has launched its second Augmented Reality mobile game of their three-part “Goosebumps 2” Slappy series; the first one was released in October. This time Slappy the ventriloquist dummy is back in a Christmas themed multiplayer AR game, “Slappy’s Haunted Christmas”. Players must open Christmas presents with a tap of the screen in order to find the Goosebumps manuscript before Slappy does. The presents are not as pleasant as they may seem as some contain jump scares! Each level is unique and the Goosebumps manuscript and jump scares are never in the same spot twice ensuring a unique play through each time. Krikey is available on the App Store and Google Play for free.

The park-building simulator “Jurassic World: Evolution” will be getting a massive update on November 20th. This addition to the game will include a new story mode called “Jurassic World Evolution: Secrets of Dr. Wu”, where Dr. Wu will call on your help with some new projects for him. If you accept his offer, a new island will be unlocked along with five new dinosaurs! Out of the five, two are regular dinosaurs, the Troodon, and Olorotitan. The other three dionos are hybrids of Wu’s creation, the Ankylodocus, Stegoceratops, and Spinoraptor.
