In recent years a new kind of video game genre is making its mark on gamers, Battle Royal style gaming. These games are a free for all survival either being played solo or in teams. The most notable games of this genre are H1Z1, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), and the more recent popular game Fortnite: Battle Royal. With the popularity of these games, many of which originally did not have a battle royal style features till they became a DLC that eventually turned into stand-alone titles. A new popular game has entered this territory, Dying Light, the first-person zombie survival game where players use parkour skills along with makeshift weaponry to survive in the urban jungle infested with zombies. Michael Becker founder of Funko, made the big announcement while speaking with Coronado Eagle & Journal and revealed that this Summer Funko will launch the brand new line of Funko Cereal that includes licenses that are part of the company’s POP! line. The new line will first feature Freddy Krueger, Elvira, and Beetlejuice! One of the fun things is we are about to release our own line of cereal, with a mini-Pop inside,” Becker stated. “We got all the cool licenses like He-Man, Wonder Woman, Elvira Mistress of the Dark, Freddy Krueger and our own Freddy Funko. Legendary Comics has released the third issue of the six-part prequel series Pacific Rim Aftermath that takes place nine years after the events of the first film and one year before the second film. In this comic series, the giant monster-fighting robots known as Jaegers are being used by crime lords to gain control of Santa Monica’s criminal underworld. A former Jaeger pilot, Griffin, works as an enforcer for the Mech Czar who needs Griffin’s skills as a Jaeger pilot to help him rule the criminal underworld. In the middle of this chaos is Jake Pentecost, who will be played by John Boyega in the film, who’s looking for answers to what happened to his father, Kaiju War hero Stacker Pentecost. As Jake continues going through the process of Drifting (a process where Jaeger pilots sync with the Jager robot itself) he will learn more about his father’s life that will reopen old wounds for Jake as well as making

Like Pokémon Go? Like Jurassic Park (World)? What if the two met and have an awesome lovechild? Well, they did and it’s called Jurassic World Alive! Like Pokémon Go, the mobile game allows users to explore their surroundings looking for Dinosaurs and capturing them. Along with collecting dinosaurs, users will be able to create their own dinosaur hybrids and pit their creations in battles against other players. What sets this game apart from Pokémon Go is that players can still collect dinos from the comfort of their own home using an in-game drone that extracts their DNA. The game at launch will have 100 dinosaur species with other species added to the game over time. The game is available for iOS and Android devices and can be registered HERE.

Previously there was an announcement trailer for the upcoming official co-op zombie survival video game World War Z based on the movie by the same name. Recently there have been major updates announced in regards to the game itself by Sabre Interactive (the game’s developer) CEO Matthew Karch who sat down with PlayStation Magazine. As mentioned in a previous article and now confirmed, players will be going to locations that were in the films namely Jerusalem and the South Korean airbase; players will also be going to New York City and Moscow with the promise that more locations around the globe will be added eventually. Players will be able to construct traps as well as barriers to alter the path of the running hoard. Now some new details! The game will be in third person view (most like over the shoulder view). The folks over at Story Line Team will soon be releasing a survival horror game that’s five years in the making, Crying Is Not Enough. This upcoming indie game will have players taking on the role of Jacob whose wife mysteriously vanishes from the hospital after she recovered from a car accident. Jacob then is told by a mysterious woman where his wife is and offers her assistance where players will be sent into a horrifying reality where Jacob will learn that his story is a minor plot in a tangled web of horror, hate, fear, and intrigue which he is now forced to survive. The game will be in third-person, from the teaser and screenshots I’m getting a sense of Silent Hill, Evil Within, and Alan Wake to it, the developers did say that Crying Is Not Enough was influenced by some big name games that left their marks on the survival horror genre in gaming. Japanese farmers may soon be able to buy or rent a robot that will defend their rice and chestnut crops from wild boars. Meet “super monster wolf” a robotic wolf with fangs and glowing red eyes, yes they glow! The bot was deployed on a trial basis last July near the Kisarazu City and passed with flying colors moving the robotic wolf to go into production. The robot is low maintenance and is powered by solar charged batteries. The animatronic wolf is motion activated when an animal gets within its range the eyes light up and the wolf moves and plays an assortment of wolf sounds, this was designed so wildlife won’t get used to just one sound rending the deterring robot useless. Once the robots are complete, farmers can buy one for $4,840 or the can rent one for $114 a month. Who knows, if the success of the wolf ends up becoming revolutionary, we might see these robotic

Two individuals are on a quest, a quest to scare the crap out of you in a new VR gaming experience that combines The Matrix and The Haunted Collector in the game Project Nightmares. The game was greenlit on STEAM and a demo of the game is available to play on PC. Players take on a role of a psychic who is working with a group of scientists on a project to study the paranormal, the group is called, Project Nightmares. Project Nightmares goal is to eradicate evil energies that are connected to objects as well as learning the history of the object in question. The playable character, while asleep, will be connected or plugged into the object and be sent into a nightmarish world that’s unique to that particular object. The developers, who are going by “NC”, stated the goal of the players is to find clues about the history behind the object as quickly and stealthily as possible

Back in August of 2014 players on PlayStation 4 got the chance to play the first ever playable trailer that was known simply as P.T., a first-person horror game like no other. The game ends revealing that this playable trailer was for (at the time) the upcoming game Silent Hills a new installment in the game series, sadly production of the game was canceled. Along with the cancelation came the removal of P.T. from PlayStation Store rendering already downloaded copies of the game unplayable, a move that’s still heavily criticized. Some can argue that P.T. was not the first game to dome something like this, the no combat, first-person horror experience. It’s true, four years prior to P.T. gamers were scared by Amnesia: The Dark Descent, a survival horror game where players explore a dark castle while trying to avoid the creatures that stalk its corridors with no means to protect themselves.
