For gamers that like in your face horror games that give you the feeling that you’re living a horror movie experience, SadSquare Studio brings the horror home in ‘Visage’. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, the game will most likely be released in 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and yes, there will be a VR option! The title of the game comes from the old French/Latin word that means a person’s face or facial expression which is fitting since the game’s tagline seems to be, “Each death has its Visage.” ‘Visage’ takes place in the 1980’s in a large house where the player lives. The house over the years has been plagued by violent deaths in nearly every room. Players explore the house to unravel the mysteries it holds by witnessing the deaths of the past while at the same time trying to not attract too much dark energy by being afraid. Christmas time is here and gifts are coming from the folks at Techland in the form of Elf-dressed Zombies in ‘Dying Light’ the first-person survival horror game where players can craft weapons and use parkour skills to survive a zombie outbreak in a quarantined city. As of the 22nd of December, a community challenge called ‘Sharing is Caring’ where players have to treat the festive-looking zombies “naughty” enough to get 1 of 8 presents before the challenge ends on New Years Day. Basically what you have to do is play ‘Dying Light’ go to either Old Town or the Slums and start your journey and locate the festive zombies in green shirts and red and white striped pants, kill them and loot their bodies of Christmas candy! The best tactic I use to get close enough to these guys is to disguise myself (hence the yellow screen on the pic) so you’re invisible to the zombies and you just sneak

Gamers and fans of the film and book ‘World War Z’ will be able to take their love of the story a step further and actually be in the middle of the body-piling chaos along with friends in the upcoming 4 player Co-Op video game by Saber Interactive. The overall story is unknown but takes players to recognizable locations from the film as well as some locations that were not in the film. Players can make traps, upgrade weapons, build barriers, and use their surroundings to keep back and survive the (debatable) undead hoard. My prediction is the game will resemble that of ‘Left 4 Dead’ and ‘Killing Floor’ both game series focus on teamwork and reaching objectives while surviving an onslaught of zombies. Recently I had the honor and privilege to interview Author Danica Davidson. Danica is leaving her mark on the literary world with quite an extensive resume but her crowning achievement is being the author of a series of books based on the smash hit video game ‘Minecraft’. Horror Fuel: “What or Who, inspired you to become a writer?” Danica Davidson : “I just liked telling stories ever since I was a little kid. I have stories from when I was three, that I either wrote IN VERY BIG LETTERS or my parents wrote down when I dictated it to them (and the letters look much better). I was writing and illustrating my own stapled-together picture books in first grade and writing novels in middle school. I waited until midnight of the 12th and got the free DLC ‘Not a Hero’, installed it and played it. The only complaint I had about the game was that it was an hour long, being a free download I guess there’s really nothing to be too upset about. The controls for the game are the same as the main story but you’re equipped with only two weapons, a high powered pistol, and a semi-automatic shotgun. You also have a knife and grenades. The options you set up for the main story carry over into the DLC (screen brightness, subtitles, language, etc). Onto the story (Possible Spoilers) first thing, if you have not played the main story, play that first or else the ‘Not a Hero’ makes no sense. The story takes place immediately after the events of the main story. You play as Chris Redfield, a veteran character from the game series, before I continue I’ll address the big

Mark your calendars, the long-awaited DLC ‘Not a Hero’ for Capcom’s critically acclaimed hit, ‘Resident Evil 7: Biohazard’ is coming next week! The game was released in January of 2017 and scared many veteran fans of the game series where the game’s mechanics have changed from being a third-person action survival horror game to a first-person horror game. At the end of the game players meet a character who said his name was “Redfield”, a surname familiar with fans of the series which lead to speculations of whether or not the character is a member of the Redfield family or not since the helicopter he rode in on has the new looking Umbrella Co. logo on it (Umbrella is an organization that plays the role of the reoccurring antagonists in the game series). At midnight tonight (December 7th, 2017), North American Gamers on the east-coast can get their hands on the new PS4 game Invector by Hello There Games. Invector is a new Rhythm Game, like Guitar Hero but with a Spaceship piloted by Stella voiced by Maya Tuttle. Players help Stella collect colorful fragments scattered across different worlds as well as help keep the rhythm of each levels song. Speaking of the songs, the playlist consists of 22 songs performed by Swedish Musician/DJ, Avicii. The game can be played solo or with friends in split-screen action, the music and this feature are perfect for parties! If you like the feeling of being in the middle of an awesome party, music you don’t mind staying in your head after a while and Cyberpunk pilots with a precious stash of chocolate bars. Then fire up your PS4, get your friends, turn up the volume and blast off with Avicii in Invector.

Many Gamers love a good horror game, especially when they deal with the supernatural in ways we’re not culturally familiar with. Most foreign horror games many gamers are familiar with come from Japan exposing many to Japanese styles of Ghost Storytelling. A game came out this year in September that’s exposing players to Ghost Storytelling from Thailand in Home Sweet Home, a first-person, stealth-horror game from Thai developer Yggdrazil Group Co. Players take on the role of a man whose wife has been missing resulting in him becoming depressed and distant. He awakes in what appears to be a dorm room where he later encounters the violent spirit of a young woman; he awakens in his home thinking it was a dream, till he looks under the stairs in his home. First, some history, in 2014 Konami released a demo called P.T. which actually means “Playable Teaser” that sent shockwaves through the gaming world within your face terror the likes of which were not seen on a bigger scale with the help of Youtube Gamers and word of mouth. The game had a disturbing storyline that was equally accompanied by the overall vibe. You’re unarmed and forced to evade a terrifying phantom. Once you complete the teaser you discovered your character is the spitting image of Norman Reedus and that this teaser is for Silent Hills the latest in the video game series Silent Hill. Sadly, production was canceled but it inspired a new wave of first-person horror games that are heavily influenced by P.T. notable is the upcoming game, Allison Road.
