A Review Of 2014’s Horror Movie ‘Creep’

Actor Mark Duplass (The League) and Patrick Brice, who directed ‘Wolf Creek’, wrote and starred in the 2014 horror thriller ‘Creep’. ‘Creep’ was also directed by Brice. In ‘Creep’ Aaron (Brice) is hired by Josef (Duplass) to make a video diary after answering a Craig’s List Ad. Josef has brain cancer and wants to make the video for his unborn son. We find out later in the movie that there is no son and no cancer. Josef is just a weird, mentally unstable man. As Aaron tries to leave Josef tries to delay him every way he can think of. Finally Aaron is able to flee, but soon begins to receive strange gifts and DVDs from Josef, but things just continue to get creepier. At the end of the movie we learn the truth about Josef and that Aaron is not his only victim. There was a lot of hype about ‘Creep’ prior to it’s release, but honestly I was

Kristen Stewert To Star In The Paranormal Thriller ‘Personal Shopper’

Kristen Stewert, known for her role as Bella Swan in the vampire/werewolf franchise ‘Twilight’, has signed on for a new horror movie. Stewert faced ghosts in 2007 horror movie ‘Messangers’ and will soon face them again in ‘Personal Shopper’. I know what you’re thinking, that’s an odd name for a horror movie. At least there will be no sparkling beings in ‘Personal Shopper’, it’s an actual horror movie. Charles Gillbert (Clouds of Sils Maria) will be serving as producer for the movie. Oliver Assayas, who also was attached to ‘Clouds of Sils Maria, will be directing ‘Personal Shopper’ . This paranormal thriller will delve into the seedy underworld of fashion. ‘Personal Shopper’ will begin filming sometime later this year, which puts the movie’s release date sometime in 2016.

Women in Horror Spotlight: Justina Walford

This week’s Women in Horror spotlight was selected, I confess, due to the fact that her wonderful new horror flick The Ladies of the House is out on VOD this week. (May 1st to be exact; mark it on your calendars!) She and her husband John Stuart Wildman are the writing team/creative whirlwind that is responsible for bringing the horror genre a story about rockabilly cannibal strippers. (Yes, you read right! Rockabilly. Cannibal. Strippers.) The film is an incredible joy to watch. Walford has been a huge part of the creation of the suspense driven thriller which is ridden with symbolism, foreshadowing, and excellent use of costume design and other elements to explain aspects of a story which would otherwise be unknown to the viewer. If you enjoy thinking and predicting outcomes in films as much as you enjoy viewing all the gorey details, you’ll love The Ladies of the House. Although her previous credits don’t include many horror titles,

An Interview With The Fabulous Naomi Grossman Of ‘American Horror Story’

Most of you may recognize Naomi Grossman from her role as Pepper on ‘American Horror Story’, though she looks extremely different in real life. Naomi made an incredible transformation from beautiful woman into her character ‘Pepper’ for both season 2 (Asylum) and season 4 (Freak Show) of ‘American Horror Story’. Not only is this sassy lady a seriously talented actress, she is also a talented writer and producer. Naomi has such light hearted titles as ‘Paradrunken Activity’, ‘Hot Yoga’ and ‘Men at Work’ listed on her resume under writer/producer credits. Naomi is currently working on her latest role in the horror-thriller ‘The Chair’, directed by Chad Ferrin. ‘The Chair’ has an incredible cast list including legendary wrestler and actor Roddy Piper (They Live), Zach Galligan (Gremlins) and Kyle Hester (Then Comes Marriage). Naomi was kind enough to answer a few of my questions. I have to say, by the end of the interview, I was even more impressed with Ms.

“Women in Horror Spotlight”: Kathryn Bigelow

Odds are that if you are familiar with director/producer/writer Kathryn Bigelow it will be for her Drama/Thriller pieces like K-19: The Widowmaker (2002) starring Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson, or for her outstanding work on The Hurt Locker (2008) for which she was the first woman to win an Academy Award for Best Director, she won the Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directing, she won the BAFTA Award for Best Direction, and she also earned the Critics Choice Award for Best Director. (This is on top of the awards that the film won on its own.) She is also the directorial force behind the recent blockbuster, Zero Dark Thirty (2012). The reason why Bigelow has earned a nod here is due to a western horror film she wrote and directed in 1987 towards the beginning of her career. The film was called New Dark and was about a small town farmer’s son who is turned into a vampire

Surviving the Virus: 'The Devil You Become' Brings Post-Apocalyptic Terror This November

Surviving the Virus: ‘The Devil You Become’ Brings Post-Apocalyptic Terror This November

Terror Films Releasing has officially partnered with writer and director Anthony Bushman for his latest project. The psychological horror thriller The Devil You Become is now heading to streaming services. The compelling story stars Bushman, Ashton Solecki, Jessica Lynn Parsons, and co-writer Brian K. Millard. The film focuses on an isolated man surviving after a catastrophic super virus eradicates billions of people. As a result, he must confront his fractured psyche while navigating a terrifying new purpose. A Vision Born from Sudden Real-World Isolation Real-world events deeply influenced the production process for this indie feature. Bushman and Millard initially planned to shoot a different project in March 2020. However, production was delayed indefinitely just thirty-six hours before the cameras were set to roll. Because the close friends were also roommates during lockdown, they quickly pivoted to craft a brand-new narrative. Specifically, they designed a script that they could produce entirely on their own inside their isolation bubble. As a result, real-world
