Traps Are Set & Blood Is Spilled In The New ‘Wrong Turn’ Trailer

Saban Films takes us back in the woods with the first trailer for Mike P. Nelson‘s (The Domestics) new take on 2003’s hillbilly horror Wrong Turn. Before you complain about it being a reboot, you should know that Alan B. McElroy, who wrote the original, wrote the new film’s script too. “Backwoods terror and never-jangling suspense meet when Jen (Charlotte Vega) and a group of friends set out to hike the Appalachian Trail. Despite warnings to stick to the trail, the hikers stray off course—and cross into the land inhabited by The Foundation, a hidden community of mountain dwellers who use deadly means to protect their way of life. Suddenly under siege, Jen and her friends seem headed to the point of no return— unless Jen’s father (Golden Globe® nominee Matthew Modine) can reach them in time.” Matthew Modine (“Stranger Things”), Damian Maffei (The Strangers: Prey at Night, Haunt), Bill Sage (“Hap and Leonard”), Emma Dumont (“The Gifted”), Chaney Morrow

Additionally, Dan has written Ouija Room for ITN Releasing (available on Tubi), and four episodes of Fred Olen Ray’s Boggy Creek: The Bigfoot Series (now available on Amazon), is the lead writer for Occult Press‘ upcoming stable of horror comics, provided voices for three films from Necrostorm, is the voice of Shoshem in the feature Sister Tempest, plus a whole slew of other nonsense including producing

An Exclusive Indepth Interview With Tony Award Winner Shuler Hensley

You don’t know this, but the only thing I love as much as horror are musicals, so when I got the opportunity to talk to actor, Tony Award-winner, and Broadway star Shuler Hensley I jumped at the chance. Known for his roles in films like Van Helsing, Odd Thomas, The Greatest Showman, “The OA”, and Cruiser as well as Broadway musicals such as Phantom of the Opera, Young Frankenstein, and Oklahoma, Shuler filled us in on a little of everything. I not only talked with Hensley about his role in the 2004 horror film Van Helsing but also Cruiser, the indie horror thriller from director Randy Ser and writer Sam Hensley Jr. The film follows a killer (Hensley) who after murdering a cop, steals his patrol car and sets off on a night of carnage and terror in a small Georgia town. Horror Fuel: “I really want to talk to you about your film career, but first, I have to

Movie Review: Darkness in Tenement 45 (2020)

In an alternate-reality version of the 1950’s, The Soviet army has invaded New York and released some undefined biological threat, and a small group of citizens laying low in their small tenement building until it all blows over. Except it doesn’t; rather troubled teen Joanna has come down with a case of “The Darkness”, and what lies within is as dangerous as the threat outside of the building’s walls. Treading the same ground as the films of horror maestro/social commentator George A. romero we get a rather diverse cast, holed up in a close quarters while the world falls to absolute shit around them… and while we definitely get a strong dose of the ol’ horror biz, this flick has a few other things on it’s mind as we delve into isolation, mental health, misogyny and more which takes things in a more realistic and dark direction. This is not a satire, rather a condemnation of various social mores. Thankfully

Movie Review: ‘Spell’ Is A Horror Movie With Serious Mojo

There are a ton of horror movies released every year, so when one is released that’s original, clever, and truly horrifying it deserves to be celebrated. That’s why we are here to talk about Spell (2020), a brilliantly dark and twisted movie that you need to see! Omari Hardwick (“Power”) stars as Marquis T. Woods, a man who escaped his abusive father and the Kentucky mountains to become a big city lawyer with a beautiful family. When he gets the call that his father has died he and his family board his Cessna plane and head to the place he’s tried so hard to forget. Unfortunately, a terrible storm hits and the plane crashes. When he wakes up in the home of a strange couple he finds himself a prisoner and has no clue as to what happened to his family. He soon realizes that his rescuer (Loretta Devine) is skilled in the ways of Hoodoo and that his life

DVD Review: Hosts (2020)

Ahh, the ho-ho-holidays, a time of gift givin’, merry makin’, and eating tons of fucking food. Speaking of which, that is precisely what’s on the agenda for Jack (Neal Ward) and Lucy (Samantha Loxley); a sickeningly in-love young couple who are set to have a nice meal with their neighbors Michael (Frank Jakeman), Cassie (Jennifer K. Preston), and their offspring; Eric (Lee Hunter), Lauren (Nadia Lamin) and Ben (Buddy Skelton). There is a slight hiccup in the night’s plans however as our young heroes find themselves possessed by an unknown entity just before they head out for their dinner date… and let me tell you; these shiny-eyed psychopaths really, and I mean really know how to ruin a dinner party in spectacular fashion! Fucking hell; Hosts grabbed me by the beastly balls and dragged me through a world of suspense, shock, and supernatural shenanigans… and I loved every monstrous minute of it! Co-writers/co-directors Adam Leader and Richard Oakes have created

Something that we’ve never explored before in the Conjuring world.” Set in 1981, the film tells the story of Arne Johnson, notable for being the first time demonic possession was used as a reason for manslaughter.” “The Devil Made Me Do It reveals a chilling story of terror, murder, and unknown evil that shocked even experienced real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.
