Writer-Director Jess Norvisgaard Fills Us In On ‘The Good Things Devils Do’

Writer-director Jess Norvisgaard sat down with me to talk about his new supernatural horror film, The Good Things Devils Do, which Horror Fuel’s Dan XIII called “a solid lil fright flick with a bit of the ol’ crimson, a great cast, and a vampire vixen run amok… so a ghoulish good time indeed!” in his review. The film stars horror greats Kane Hodder, Bill Oberst Jr., and Linnea Quigley along with David Rucker III, Mary Katherine O’Donnell, Kelley Wilson Robinson, and Veronika Stoykova. In the indie film, “Richard (Oberst Jr.), a small-time gangster who is retiring. Before he can, he must take one last job: to steal money from a rival gangster’s house. Miles apart, Melvin (Rucker) is a reluctant family man who has dreams of becoming a famous curator for his Museum of the Macabre. His newest acquisition? The remains of the notorious Masquerade (Stoykova), a vampire born from the embers of hell, slain centuries ago. On Halloween Night,

Nightmare On Elm Street Production Designer Boards ‘The House In The Pines’

The upcoming horror The House In The Pines just got a little more frightening with the addition of Mick Strawn, production designer of A Nightmare of Elm Street 4:The Dream Master’ and ‘Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III‘. The collective work of Mick Strawn is simply amazing as he has also worked special effects on Witchboard and Blade. He also has Art Department credit on films such as Candyman, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and the television series, “Tales from the Darkside“. Strawn will be partnering with the filmmaking team of Mario Cerrito, Michael Joy, and John DiRenzo for the film described as “an ’80s slasher that is nothing like an 80s slasher.” “Bringing in a guy like Mick Strawn, who has been on sets of some of the biggest horror films in history is an honor. For him to want to work with me is a great feeling. Mick offers up so much knowledge, expertise and wisdom in the horror

Movie Review: The Good Things Devils Do (2020)

Richard (genre vet Bill Oberst Jr.) is a thief out for one last kick. Along for the final heist is his daughter and partner-in-crime Mouse (Mary Katherine O’Donnell) and Percy (Kane Hodder; THE Jason Voorhees mother fucker!), a true psychopath of an individual who truly annoys the ever-lovin’ piss out of Rich. Meanwhile, Melvin (David Rucker III) and his stepdaughter Caroline (Kelley Wilson Robinson) are hangin’ around their museum of outre oddities, just taking care of their newest acquisition; the supposed remains of a vicious vamp known as Masquerade (Veronika Stoykova). Of course those remains are legit A.F., and soon Masquerade is up and about, and you know damn well she’s crosses paths with that criminal crew mentioned up yonder… on Halloween night no less! Writer/director Jess Norvisgaard wastes no time with The Good Things Devils Do; and delivers plenty of murder n’ mayhem from nearly beginning to end, with plenty of the red sauce splashed about when called for!

The Weird World of Wild Eye Releasing: Part 4

As you have seen in the first three parts of this series (located here, here, and here) Wild Eye Releasing are filled to the beastly brim with all manner of horror biz available to satisfy you cats n’ creeps… and here come a few more to put on your revoltin’ radar! First title up is Mind Rage (2001): Schoolteacher Michael (Michael Rogue), is one fucked-up dude thanks to his outrageously traumatic childhood, and let me tell ya, his present isn’t going to go so smooth either when a mysterious blonde named Jessica makes the scene in both Michael, and his policeman brother, Jack’s (Charles Hallahan) lives. Things soon swan-dive into a neo-noir swirl of ultra-stabby serial murders where every mother fucker standing is a suspect! Atmosphere is the best friend of co-writer/director Mark Allen Michaels (aided and abetted by co-writer Gwendolyn Gadek), and he uses it expertly to give an experience not entirely unlike if Hitchcock had directed Se7en… if

The Weird World of Wild Eye Releasing: Part 3

As you have seen in the first two parts of this series (located here and here) Wild Eye Releasing have scads of horror biz-centric material available; enough to satisfy countless graveyards full of slavering horror hounds. Don’t believe me? Check out this beastly bevy of terror titles! First title up is The Witch Behind the Door: Based on the legend of the “Witches of Benevento”, The Witch Behind the Door (or Janara as it was originally known) concerns the misadventures of Marta and Alessandro (played by Laura Sinceri and Alessandro D’Ambrosi respectively) who arrive in the village of San Lupo to collect an inheritance left to Marta. I mean some free dough is always cool, but the village gives the outsiders the cold shoulder right quick, but that’s understandable given all of the missing children and such… children who’s disappearance could be the work of a pedo or a coven of witches… I mean there couldn’t be any other answer
