King’s Vocal Endorsement:
In a recent X post, King expressed his confusion and enthusiasm: “I’ve seen the new SALEM’S LOT, and it’s quite good. Old-school horror filmmaking: slow build, big payoff. Not sure why WB is holding it back; not like it’s embarrassing, or anything. Who knows. I just write the f–king things.”
This isn’t his first endorsement. Last year, King praised the film’s “muscular and involving” nature, comparing its slow-burn style to classic slow-burners like The Great Escape. He highlighted a particularly chilling scene, comparing it to John Carpenter’s prime work.
Release Date Mystery:
Despite the completed film and positive word from King, Salem’s Lot lacks a release date. Lewis Pullman leads the cast as the main protagonist, joined by talents like Makenzie Leigh, Alfre Woodard, Bill Camp, and Pilou Asbaek. Director Gary Dauberman is known for horror hits like Annabelle, IT, The Nun, and the upcoming sequel Nun II, helms the film.
