Product Review: GWAR’s Buds Of Gods

GWAR. What’s the first thing you picture when you hear that name? The correct answer is a band of interplanetary barbarians and our masters, but a metal band that stood steadfast against time without blinking and inspired many metal bands is acceptable as well. Hearing GWAR and CBD together in one sentence probably does not come to mind right? Surprisingly it’s a thing and a true Scumdog would want to check out! I present to you GWAR’s Bud of Gods. I want to give a big shout-out and thank you to GWAR and Consequence for making this review possible. I was sent GWAR Bud of Gods aluminum dugout. The design is sleek and fits comfortably in my pocket. The rotating top has a nice strong magnet that keeps it shut and everything inside as well as holding the cleaning tool. Horror-Thriller ‘The Retaliators’ – Featuring Some Of The Biggest Names In Rock – Wraps Filming

The horror film The Retaliators not only stars some of the biggest bands in rock, but they are also featured on the soundtrack with new songs from the likes of Papa Roach, Five Finger Death Punch, Bad Wolves, Escape The Fate, and more! Better Noise Entertainment, announced that principal photography has officially wrapped on the upcoming horror-thriller starring Michael Lombardi (“Rescue Me”), Marc Menchaca (“Ozark”), and Joseph Gatt (“Game of Thrones”). Directed by Bridget Smith and Samuel Gonzalez, Jr., the screenplay was written by Darren Geare and Jeff Allen Geare. It was also announced today that Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein, the Emmy-winning composers behind the acclaimed music of Netflix’s hit “Stranger Things,” have written the original score for the film. The chilling psychological thriller Dark State from writer-director Tracy Lucca (The Finders), is out now from Atlas Distribution Company and Lucca Films in association with Creative Partners International & Realize Studios. Blu-ray Review: Mean Man: The Story of Chris Holmes (2021)

Chris Holmes, the legendary guitarist on the first four studio releases from 1980’s shock-rockers W.A.S.P. (whom I bet more than one of you horror hounds out there were major fans of), and he of the vodka-drenched pool-set interview in Penelope Spheeris’ documentary The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years gets the solo spotlight in the latest Blu-ray release from Cleopatra (along with MVD Entertainment); Mean Man: The Story of Chris Holmes! Immediately we learn Chris is alive and well (a miracle in and of itself), married, living in Southern France, and touring with his latest band Mean Man (for which he performs vocal and guitar duty). Putting on my headphones and pressing play on the new album from Austin-based Black Pistol Fire was like taking a wrong turn down a dark New Orleans alley and happening upon an after-hours blood-orgy. Back in 2017 musician G Tom Mac, whose song “Cry Little Sister” became iconic after being featured on The Lost Boys soundtrack, sat down with us for an interview. During our conversation, G Tom Mac went into detail about plans to turn the classic movie into a musical. It’s been a few years since then, but the musical finally now seems to be moving forward. “I’ve been working on it for five years. I always thought ‘Lost Boys’ would make a great musical. I wanted to dig deeper into the characters and give everybody a backstory and how they all came together and how they became vampires. Game Review: ‘Neversong’

Serenity Forge and Atmos Games were awesome enough to let me check out their 2D Platformer Neversong. Neversong is a remake/sequel to Once upon a coma. Players take on the role of a boy named Peet who fell into a coma after seeing his best friend Wren being kidnapped by a mysterious figure known as Dr.Smile. Peet awakens to find himself in a nightmare world where something is wrong with the adults after they looked for him and Wren in the asylum the two youngsters wandered into. Now onto the game itself. When it comes to the controls, it’s so limited that you master it within the first minute of gameplay. Speaking of gameplay, it’s actually quite fun. I’m not big when it comes to puzzles and platformers but Neversong made it quite unique and not very frustrating. Headbang While Killing Demons In ‘Metal: Hellsinger’

Funcom and game dev The Outsiders today revealed their upcoming first-person shooter that pits players against demons while listening to heavy metal, Metal: Hellsinger. Metal: Hellsinger is a Rhythm-FPS meaning that players shoot in time to the music the more effective their shots are plus the more intense the music becomes and let’s face it, when it comes to metal, you want to throw up some horns. The soundtrack for the game is original and will feature vocals from metal’s popular singers, at the time of writing this Matt Heafy of Trivium and Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy are in the game. Each level has its own song that will start off as background music but as players successfully keep the beat by the end of the level the song should become a powerful anthem!
