The so bad it’s good holiday slasher from 1984 Silent Night Deadly Night could soon become a board game to add to your yuletide game nights! The film’s producers teamed up with Fright-Rags Inc. to make a Kickstarter to help bring this fun vision to life! 1-4 players can team up and try to stop Billy, the Santa-dressed killer, from killing Mother Superior at the Orphanage! Play as Andy, Denise, Mr. Simms, or Sister Margret to try and foil Billy’s plan all the while risking yourself in the process. Players will have to try to set up roadblocks to slow Billy down while drawing action cards featuring moments from the film. The board will be double-sided with a Naughty and Nice side, the nice side being the standard game while the Naughty side is set up as a drinking game! Things suck on this planet, could it be worse anywhere else? Well, Thunderful has shown that the grass is not always greener on other worlds in their sci-fi exploration game The Gunk. The Gunk takes players to an unknown world where they play as Rani, voiced by Fiona Nova (Rooster Teeth), who along with Becks, voiced by Abigail Turner (Remothered: Broken Porcelain) landed on a strange planet where they hope to find resources that could make them rich but instead discover a planet full of Gunk, a festering growth that’s slowly killing the planet and hides secrets to an ancient civilization. Onto the game itself, the controls for The Gunk are pretty straightforward and thankfully minimal and respond well especially during combat. When it comes to interacting with the Gunk itself it’s very satisfying using your power glove to suck it up, seriously it’s unusually satisfying! THQ Nordic yesterday released a large expansion to their RPG adventure Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. This DLC titled Fatesworn continues the story after the events of the game’s main story set years later with the god of chaos Telogrus awakening and wishing to bring chaos to the world of Amalur, not wanting to see your hard work of bringing peace back to the land, you again set out to put this god in his place! There’s really not much I can say without spoiling the story, but when it comes to the game itself, you can refer to my previous review of the main game HERE as pretty much the game’s controls, graphics, and sound are no different now as they were previously BUT I will say the map has improved where the minimap is no longer locked in place (you can change that in the options if this option was always there I’ll admit I missed that!). Gun Interactive, the developer of the online horror multiplayer Friday The 13th: The Game is back with a new online multiplayer based on a classic horror slasher flick, this time involving everyone’s favorite inbred cannibal family with their chainsaw-wielding kin from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Gun Interactive is working alongside Sumo Nottingham to bring this 1974 classic to life for PC and next-gen consoles and promise that the game will be authentic to the film it’s based on. It’s no secret that the original The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is probably my favorite horror film ever created. Players will be plunged into a fragmented world that we once called home where they’ll be stalked by its new inhabitants designed by Italian visual arts master Alessandro Bavari who has worked on Alien: Covenant and Susperia. In Aftermath, players will take on the role of Charlie Gray an astronaut who returned from space to find it in a fragmented nightmare where she only has two objectives, survive and find her daughter. Cold Iron Studios and Focus Entertainment‘s co-op survival shooter set in the “Alien” universe, Aliens: Fireteam Elite will be releasing its second season full of free new content to players this month full of new weapons, weapon attachments, and cosmetics. Along with the new items comes a new game mode that will challenge players. The new game mode titled Point Defense will challenge players to protect, repair, and hold three strategic points while fighting off waves of Xenomorphs. Along with the new game mode and weapons/attachments will come new challenge cards, and lifetime stats. Coinciding with the release of Season 2, the second Endeavor Pass DLC Pack (the Nostromo Salvage Pack) will also be available. Wired Productions and LKA announced at the Golden Joystick Awards that their upcoming first-person psychological thriller Martha Is Dead will be getting a February release for Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox, and PC. Set in Italy during the Second World War, Martha is Dead follows a young woman who is going through loss after her sister was found murdered after her body washed to shore near the village they live in. With the horrors of war playing in the background, players will explore the blurred lines of reality and local folklore and urban legends surrounding the White Lady. Players can explore the countryside of Tuscany, use tarot cards, take pictures and develop them in a dark room, unlock the main character’s suppressed memories through mechanical theatre sequences using marionettes, and collect newspapers and telegrams as well as listen to the radio to follow the historical events unfolding. Game developer Dimfrost Studio announced today released the gameplay trailer for their upcoming Nordic-inspired horror game Bramble: The Mountain King. The game was first revealed IGN expo at E3 but the trailer is the first look players have to see what awaits them in the dark magical woods full of creatures of Nordic folklore. In Bramble: The Mountain King players will play as a young boy who along with his sister is lost in a magical forest known as Bramble while on an emotional journey to uncover the truth behind a dark curse. The game will feature stealth mechanics along with environmental puzzles and combat that will include “David vs Goliath” boss fights. Bramble: The Mountain King is scheduled to be released in 2022 for PC and consoles.
