[Review] A Familiar Spirit’ Pays Homage To Paranormal Activity!

A Familiar Spirit’ is the newest film release by Hectic Films (Naked Zombie Girl, As The Man Drives) starring Ivan Torres, Chris Kovacs, Chelsea Newman, Erica Ray, Rickey Bird, Jason Sanders, Michael Kubic and DT Carney. A couple moves into a new home and later discovers it’s a gateway to hell. Following the same formula of Paranormal Activity. The film basically wasn’t a let down. At first impression some of the actor’s dramatic-ness (let my made up word make sense!) made me frankly roll my eyes..it was bit overly done. But to distract from that, writer/director Rickey Bird brought multiple heart in throat scenes throughout the film, particularly the ones featuring man or women against soul hungry demon. Put it this way, about 2 minutes into the film I seen the demon and was horrified. 30 minutes into Paranormal Activity’ I’m hearing well paranormal activity. For an indie film, I was left horrified. A Group Of Outcasts Hunt The Paranormal In Ghost Team – First Trailer

Jon Heder leads a group paranormal investigators in the horror-comedy Ghost Team, directed by Oliver Irving. Heder (Napoleon Dynamite) stars alongside Justin Long (Tusk, Drag Me to Hell), Amy Sedaris (BoJack Horseman), David Krumholtz (This Is the End), Paul W. Downs (Time Traveling Bong), Tom Schiller (Saturday Night Live), Joel Marsh Garland (Orange Is the New Black) and Melonie Diaz (The Belko Experiment). Determined to catch some ghosts on film, a paranormal-obsessed man mounts his own investigation into the beyond along with his depressed best friend, his misfit nephew, a cable access medium and an overeager security guy by his side. The film, written by Peter Warren, is produced by Julie Christeas, Schulyer Weiss, and Alex Sagalchik. Ghost Team will haunt Google Play beginning July 21st and will open in theaters on August 12th from The Orchard. Chris Geere To Play The Role Of A Paranormal Investigator In A New Horror-Comedy

Chris Geere (You’re the Worst) is set to play the role of a paranormal investigator looking to boost the ratings of his reality-TV show. Geere’s character heads down to Mexico with his team to shoot an episode in an alleged haunted house. Geere and his team, all who are complete fakers, think that the episode will be enough to boost ratings and save the failing series, but when the house actually turns out to haunted he and his team must scramble to survive. The yet-to-be titled horror-comedy will be directed by Tony West. The film will be debuting as West’s first full length feature. It will begin filming this March in Villahermosa and Mexico City according to THR. Daniel Posada, Dark Factory’s CEO, will be producing. Hopefully the name of the film will be announced soon.

Jim Klock (Scream Queens) will be both directing and starring in the paranormal film 6:66 PM. The film follows a reality TV show’s staged paranormal investigation that becomes very real when they discover that house they are investigating is haunted by a serial killer, and he’s still adding to his body count. The group is determined to make their show, no matter the cost. Chad Ridgely, Autumn Federici, Scott Burkhardt and Michael Buonomo have been cast in 6:66 PM, which will be out in 2016 from Full Auto Films and Code 3 Films.

Paranormal Activity 5: The Ghost Dimension Coming To VOD This Month

Paranormal Activity 5: The Ghost Dimension is the second film, the first being Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, to take part in Paramount’s early release experiment. What does the experiment mean for horror fans? Normally there is a minimum of three months between a film’s theatrical release and its VOD/digital release. Paramount is testing to see how a shorter waiting period would affect their bottom line. This is a good thing. This could mean that in the future we will not have to wait, what feels like forever, to see a film we couldn’t make it to a theater to see. The December 15th VOD/digital release date for Paranormal Activity 5 comes just 53 days after the film’s debut in theaters. The Orchard has acquired the distribution rights to Oliver Irving’s new film ‘Ghost Team’. The film was written by Irving and Peter Warren and stars Justin Long (Drag Me to Hell), Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite), Amy Sedaris (Alpha House), David Krumholtz (This Is the End), Melonie Diaz (Be Kind Rewind) and Paul W. Downs (Broad City), according to Deadline. ‘Ghost Team’ follows a man, obsessed with the paranormal,who teams up with his depressed best friend, his nephew, a cable-access medium and an over-eager security guard. The team of ghost hunters get more than they bargained for when they embark on a paranormal investigation. Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension Not Playing In Your Local Theater ? We Know Why.

Are you wondering why ‘Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension’ is not playing in your local theater ? We know why. Paramount Pictures struck a deal making ‘Paranormal Activity’ available on VOD just over two weeks from it’s theater release and it scared off several theater chains, including Cinemark and Regal. The deal is a little risky for the theaters that did decided to play the film, though Paramount did make the deal a little sweeter by offering those theaters a percentage of the VOD sales. Well Known Paranormal Investigators Killed In Murder-Suicide

The paranormal community is mourning the loss of Mark and Debby Constantino. The two paranormal investigators gained notoriety for their appearances on the series ‘Ghost Adventures’. Mark and Debby were identified by The Sparks Police Department after the hostage situation. The situation began when Debby’s roommate came home and found their other roommate dead and Debby missing. Mark had taken Debby, his estranged wife, hostage at another apartment. The police located the couple using Debby’s cell phone. When the SWAT team approached the apartment after hearing gun shots, they knocked on the door. Mark told police “give me 15 minuets to think or I’ll kill her”. After a three hour standoff SWAT used stun grenades and entered the apartment where they found both Debby and Mark dead in a murder-suicide. The Paranormal Activity franchise will end this October with it’s sixth film ‘Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension’, directed by Greg Plotkin. We’ve always wondered about the dark entity in the films. His name, Toby, has been revealed, but his story remains untold, until now. ‘The Ghost Dimension’ follows a new family , the Fleeges. Ryan, the father , is played by Chris J. Murray. Brit Shaw plays the concerned mother, Emily. Ella, their young daughter, is played by Ivy George. When the family moves into the house they discover a box of tapes and a camera left in the garage. After they look through the footage they begin to experience intense paranormal activity. Kristi and Katie (Jessica Tyler Brown and Chloe Csengery) from ‘Paranormal Activity 3’ will return in ‘The Ghost Dimension’. ‘Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension’ will appear in 3D in theaters on October 23rd.
