The Haunting Trailer Arrives For David Lowery’s Paranormal Drama ‘A Ghost Story’

One of the films out of this year’s Sundance Film Festival that is receiving a lot of attention is David Lowery’s haunting tale, A Ghost Story. The trailer has just arrived and it just might be enough to break your heart. The paranormal drama is flying under the A24 banner, the same people who brought us the genre hits The Witch and Green Room. Lowery (Pete’s Dragon) both wrote and directed A Ghost Story, whose cast includes Casey Affleck, Rooney Mara, Sonia Acevedo, Will Oldham, Liz Franke, and Rob Zabrecky. In the film, that explores legacy, love, loss, and existence, a recently deceased man (Affleck) returns home to haunt his wife. Appearing as a ghost wearing a sheet, he tries to reconnect with grieving wife. A Ghost Story is set for release on July 7, 2017. You might want to have a box of Kleenex close by when you watch.

The Strangers’ Ciarán Foy Begins Production On The Paranormal Thriller Eli

Filmmaker Ciarán Foy, has already made a big splash in the genre with his films Citadel and Sinister II. The first information had been revealed for Foy’s psychological thriller Eli and I can’t wait to see it. The film centers on Eli, a young boy undergoing treatments for a rare disease in a secluded clinic. The clinic in reality is a haunted former prison, that has no way out. With paranormal aspects, Eli is based on the script originally written by David Chirchirillo and rewritten by Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing, the writing duo are behind The Autopsy of Jane Doe (review). Deadline reports that filming is set to begin this summer. Trevor Macy is producing under Intrepid Pictures’ banner.

A First Look At The Paranormal Drama ‘A Ghost Story’

One of the biggest films coming out of Sundance is David Lowery’s haunting tale, ‘A Ghost Story’ and we have the first images. The film is flying under the A24 banner, the same company behind the genre hits ‘The Witch’ and ‘Green Room’. Kristen Stewart Goes Glamorous On New Poster For Paranormal Thriller Personal Shopper

A new poster (above) has arrived for the ghost film ‘Personal Shopper’, starring ‘Twilight’ actress Kristen Stewart. Don’t worry the only thing that sparkles in this film are the sequins. Stewart as a high-fashion personal shopper to the stars who also happens to be a spiritual medium. While grieving the death of her twin brother, she haunts his Paris home, determined to make contact with him. Written and directed by Oliver Assayas, the film also stars Lars Eldinger, Sigrid Bouaziz, Andrew Danielsen Lie, Ty Olwin, Hammou Graïa, Nora von Waldstatten, and Bejamin Biolay. ‘Personal Shopper’ will open in theaters on March 10, 2017 from IFC Midnight.

Fox Orders Pilot For Paranormal Comedy ‘Ghosted’

Fox has ordered the pilot for the paranormal comedy ‘Ghosted’, starring Adam Scott and Craig Robinson. Robinson and Scott have worked together before. They co-starred together in the 2015 comedy ‘Hot Tub Time Machine 2’ (pictured below). The series, being described as a funny version of ‘The X-Files’, follows “a cynical skeptic (Robinson) and a genius ‘true believer’ in the paranormal (Scott) who are recruited by the The Bureau Underground to look into the rampant ‘unexplained’ activity in Los Angeles, all while uncovering a larger mystery that could threaten the existence of the human race.” Tom Gormican, who wrote the pilot, will serve as executive producer along with Naomi Scott, Oly Obst, Mark Schulman, Scott and Robinson. ‘Workaholics’ Kevin Etten will also be executive producing as well as working as the showrunner, Variety reports. Jessica Rothe To Star In ‘Half To Death’ From The Writer Of Paranormal Activity II – V

Photo Credit: MTV Jessica Rothe, co-star of MTV’s series Mary + Jane has been cast in the lead role of ‘Tree’ in Christopher Landon’s new horror film Half to Death. Fear the Walking Dead actor Israel Broussard is set to play the role of the best friend. The film centers on a young woman who is trapped in a vicious cycle of death and must solve the mystery of who is trying to killer her and why before it’s too late. Landon, who also wrote 2016’s Viral, Paranormal Activity II through V, and 2007’s Disturbia, will be directing from the script he co-wrote with Scott Lobdell, according to Variety. Half to Death will be produced by Jason Blum of Blumhouse. John Baldecchi and Angela Mancuso will serve as executive producers.
