‘Salem’s Lot’ Sinks Its Fangs into a Streaming Premiere

In late February, Master of Horror Stephen King spoke up in defense of the new Salem’s Lot movie and that it should be released. After all, it has been finished and trapped in limbo since 2022. He even had great things to say about it. Well, it appears that King has gotten his wish. The movie now has a release window. The Cast and Crew Gary Dauberman, known for horror hits like Annabelle, IT, and The Nun, directs the film. Lewis Pullman (Top Gun: Maverick) stars in the lead role of Ben. Makenzie Leigh, Alfre Woodard, Bill Camp, and Pilou Asbaek co-star. A King Classic In King’s 1975 novel, Ben returns to the town of Jerusalem’s Lot to write his next book. Max Renn (James Woods, John Carpenter’s Vampires) is the president of tiny UHF station CIVIC-TV; a channel that stays afloat thanks to it’s regular broadcasts containing ample amounts of those hoary ol’ chestnuts, sex and violence! Bored with the normal softcore smut he’s is offered for broadcast, Mmax turns his eyes skyward for inspiration… namely by using CIVIC-TV’s big-ass satellite dish to find new programs that’ll excite both himself and his viewers. For horror fans eagerly awaiting the new adaptation of Stephen King‘s chilling novel “Salem’s Lot,” news remains frustratingly stagnant. Despite being completed and receiving praise from King himself, the film remains unreleased, shrouded in the uncertainties of Hollywood distribution. King’s Vocal Endorsement: In a recent X post, King expressed his confusion and enthusiasm: “I’ve seen the new SALEM’S LOT, and it’s quite good. Old-school horror filmmaking: slow build, big payoff.
