Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu Sinks Its Fangs Into A 2024 Release Date

Fans of director Robert Eggers, behind films such as The Witch, The Northman, and The Lighthouse, are eagerly waiting to sink their teeth into his new film Nosferatu, based on the classic 1922 silent film directed by F.W. Murnau. The release date has been announced today, revealing that the film will bear its fangs in theaters in 2024. Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman in 19th-century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire who stalks her, bringing untold horrors with him. Lily-Rose Depp stars alongside IT and Barbarian star Bill Skarsgård, who plays the vampire Count Orlok. The film sees Eggers reunite with actors from his previous films, including Willem Dafoe (The Lighthouse), Skarsgård (The Norseman), Anya Taylor-Johnson (The Witch), and Ralph Ineson (The Witch). Terror Grips Lily-Rose Depp In First Image From Robert Eggers’ ‘Nosferatu’

Empire Magazine has revealed the first image for Robert Eggers’ highly anticipated gothic horror film Nosferatu, based on the classic 1922 silent film directed by F.W. Murnau. The image features Lily-Rose Depp gripped with terror as the shadow of the vampire Count Orlok falls upon her. Played by IT and Barbarian star Bill Skarsgård, Count Orlok is far from your romanticized, suave vampire. He’s grotesque. Eggers, the brilliant filmmaker behind films such as The Witch, The Lighthouse, and The Northman, speaks on Bill Skarsgård’s portrait of the vampire. “I’ll say that Bill has so transformed, I’m fearful that he might not get the credit that he deserves because he’s just… he’s not there,” Eggers said of Skasgård’s performance. “He felt like honoring who had come before him. In the Heat (Canada, 2023) Sam Chou follows up his superb animated vampire tale VRDLK: Family of Vurdulak (Canada, 2022) with In the Heat (Canada, 2023), the story of a man claiming to be Santa Claus who is under suspicion of murdering a young girl. Though the detectives grilling him are skeptical of his story, he seems to know something about them, and if what he claims is true, a Christmas-time battle of good versus evil is at stake. The animation style is wonderfully crafted, the voice acting is excellent, and the plot is gripping and poignant. Fans of Christmas-themed fear fare, animated horror, and animation in general should consider In the Heat to be required viewing.
