Not only will del Toro be directing, he will also be producing along side Jason Brown, Sean Daniel and Elizabeth Grave. The extremely popular book series, which began in 1984, was written by Alvin Schwatz. The film is likely to be frightening, after all the books were banned by most libraries after being deemed too scary for kids by the American Library Association. I loved these books as a kid. I can’t wait to see del Toro’s adaption.

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg will be directing the series, which is based on the adaption of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s fantastic graphic novel by the same name. For those who are not familiar with the comics, let me explain. Jesse, after being possessed by Genesis, an entity that is half angel and half demon, sets out to find God. He is accompanied by his ex girlfriend Tulip O’Hare (Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun). The angels, desperate to have Genesis back in his cage, send “The Killer of Saints” to find him. If the series is anything like the graphic novels, it will be dark, twisted and controversial.
