The Predator franchise is back this summer with the new prequel, Prey. Today, 20th Century officially announced the release date for this August. That’s not all, the first official teaser trailer has also arrived. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane), the prequel will reveal the Predator’s first hunt on earth with Amber Midthunder (“Legion”) starring as a Comanche woman who fights against gender norms and long-held traditions to become a warrior. Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, Prey follows Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. IFC Midnight continues to deliver haunting genre films, including Hatching which was released just yesterday. The newest film they’ve announced is the directorial debut of Charlotte Colbert, She Will, a psychological horror produced by horror legend Dario Argento (Suspiria). She Will is a gothic-tinged drama about a declining movie star, Veronica Ghent (Alice Krige), who, after a difficult surgery, goes to a healing retreat in rural Scotland with her young nurse, Desi (Kota Eberhardt). With her own identity in doubt, Veronica starts to confront past traumas endured on movie sets. The two women develop an unlikely bond as mysterious natural forces of the wilderness give Veronica the power to enact a revenge. During a promotional video for Netflix‘s upcoming June Geek Week event, the streaming giant unveiled a new glimpse at their upcoming live-action adaptation of Neil Gaiman‘s The Sandman, giving us a look at Gwendoline Christie‘s character Lucifer (no connection to the Lucifer TV series). In the video, Tom Sturridge, who is playing Dream of the Endless, says “Oh right, and Sandman’s coming. Trust me.” At the end of the video we see Lucifer in a brief but tense interaction with Dream in Hell.
