True Crime Film 'Sound Of Freedom' Goes Viral, Exposing Child Trafficking

True Crime Film ‘Sound Of Freedom’ Goes Viral, Exposing Child Trafficking

There are things in this world far more horrifying than any slasher or creature feature you can dig up. Once in a while, I get to talk about movies that can help bring change. One of those is the new true story, true crime film Sound of Freedom, which premiered this week with little fan fair and little advertising and has now gone viral, bringing in over $11 million in its first week, with box office numbers now reaching over $40 million in its second week. In fact, it outdid Indiana Jones by a mile. Before we get into the movie’s details, here’s a statistic that should keep you up at night; according to the statistics more than 35 million people, including children, are trafficked yearly for sex, slavery and even organ harvesting. Sound of Freedom is bringing real attention to the crime that plagues every country in the world, including the US, where it is a billion-dollar-a-year industry. The

Producer Daemon Hillin Talks 'The Flood' And More In Our Interview

Producer Daemon Hillin Talks ‘The Flood’ And More In Our Interview

The new film, The Flood, has a lot going on. It has elements of a natural disaster movie, a prison break movie, and a creature feature, which will keep you on your toes. Directed by Brandon Stagle and written by Chad Law and Josh Ridgway, The Flood sees a horde of hungry alligators unleashed on a group of in-transit prisoners and their guards after a massive hurricane floods Louisiana. Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers), Nicky Whelan (Hall Pass), and Louis Mandylor (“Friends”) star in this action-packed indie flick. I sat down with the film’s producer, Daemon Hillin, to talk about The Flood, what it means to be a producer, as well as his upcoming projects. Hillin has produced a horde of indie horror films, such as Death of Me, directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, the shark movie Man Eater, and last year’s The Long Night, to name a few. Here’s what Daemon Hilling had to say. Be sure to check

Movie Review: The Tank (2023) - Well Go USA Blu-ray

Movie Review: The Tank (2023) – Well Go USA Blu-ray

Back in the late 1970’s, ol’ Ben (Matt Whelan) inherits some property down Oregon way. So before you can say “Shitty idea”, Ben packs the fam and heads off to that newly acquired property. Naturally, the house the family is set to move in looks creepy as all hell, and despite the beautiful view, the place would be avoided by anyone with half a brain cell in real life… and that’s not even factoring in the bizarre water feature, the eponymous tank, sure to detract even more value from the dread domicile. From there we get some Horror Tropes 101 as we get a blast of bumps in the night, dark family secrets, a legacy of missing persons, and mysterious creatures. Will Ben and his brood survive their wicked windfall, or will the secrets of the house be their demise?! Lets get the elephant in the room out of the way first; writer/director Scott Walker walks some familiar ground with

Movie Review: Bone Cold (2022) - Well Go USA Blu-ray

Movie Review: Bone Cold (2022) – Well Go USA Blu-ray

Writer/director Billy Hanson‘s Bone Cold begins with a real Debbie Downer of a sitch; namely snipers Jon (Jonathan Stoddard) and Marco (Matt Munroe) try and return to the day-to-day of family life after completing some top secret wet-work down Afghanistan way, but that ol’ double punch of guilt and PTSD make it tough going. They don’t have long to get all domestic-like however as they are soon sent on a new mission to stop Russian military activity in the Ukraine. The mission goes tits-up however, as our lads accidentally kill a civilian bringing military down upon them post-fucking-haste! That would be a bad day under any circumstances but it just so happens to be another wicked wrinkle in the Black Ops as a vicious creature stalks the surrounding forests, and this thing is pissed to all hell and back! Bone Cold is a tight lil’ creature feature for sure, but let me tell ya my cats n’ creeps, it has

‘Cocaine Cougar’ Clawing Its Way Onto VOD And Blu-ray (Trailer)

Cocaine Bear (review) has inspired several drug-fueled creature features, the latest, Cocaine Cougar, claws its way onto streaming services next week. This fun flick, directed by Dustin Ferguson (“Mega Ape”), follows a deadly Black Cougar high on Cocaine after it escapes a Los Angeles lab. As it begins picking off the locals, the men in charge are too busy snorting lines of their own and enjoying “cougars” of another kind to do anything to stop it. Dawna Lee Heising (“Blade Runner,” Bad President), Jonathan Nation (The Sixth Sense), Tyrone Tann (Starship Troopers), Erik Anthony Russo (Hell of the Screaming Undead ), and Rocky DeMarco (Demolition High, Murderbot ), star in the film from SoCal Cinema Studios. Sink your teeth into the trailer below. Watch Cocaine Cougar on Prime Video or Tubi next week, or own it on Blu-Ray or DVD.

Movie Review: Alien From the Abyss (1989) – Severin Blu-ray

Greenpeace activists Lee (Robert Marius, who is the ultimate ’80s dude with his Long Beach t-shirt, acid-washed denim vest, and frosted tips) and Jane (Marina Giulia Cavalli) head off to a remote tropical island, bulky-as-fuck camcorder in tow, in order to investigate reports that a military-run chemical company is chucking radioactive waste into a nearby active volcano without a singular fuck given. Once they ninja-shit their way into the facility, our heroes find that all of the stories were indeed true… but unfortunately their unwanted presence is brought to the attention of the company’s Badass-In-Charge, Col. Kovacks (Rambo: First Blood Part II‘s Charles Napier, who has a serious hard-on for Houston in this flick) who proceeds to capture Lee while Jane escapes courtesy of some truly action-packed shit! Once lost in the wilds, Jane befriends American expat/professional (or is it for pleasure… ) snake-milker Bob (Daniel Bosch, proving his superiority at looking like a young Jeffrey Combs) who helps her

Box Set Review: Danza Macabre Volume One - Severin Films Blu-ray

Box Set Review: Danza Macabre Volume One – Severin Films Blu-ray

Our fiendish friends over at Severin Films have gathered up four Italian gothic horror films, slapped them in a (beautifully embellished) box, and unleashed them on our arcane asses under the title of the Danza Macabre collection. Let’s feast our putrid peepers on what this set has to offer one by fright-filled one! Disc One brings us 1964’s The Monster of the Opera: This flick opens with a banger of a scene in which a vampire chases a young woman in a nightgown before trapping her behind an invisible wall and trying to dispatch her with a pitchfork! Flash forward and dynamic theater director Sandro (Marco Mariani) has moved his troupe of actors, dancers, and mimes into an abandoned theater despite being warned explicitly not to do so by the caretaker of the joltin’ joint, Achille (Alberto Archetti) by name, who witnessed the ghoulish goings-on mentioned up yonder! As the arsty and fartsy goes on, it becomes ever more obvious

Uncork’d Entertainment is set to unleash First Contact this June from Wendigo and Monstrous director Bruce Wemple. “First Contact tells of two estranged adult siblings, Casey and Dan, who travel to their late scientist father’s farmhouse to make sense of his incomplete work. One by one, the bodies start to pile up. Now, Dan and Casey must figure out the secrets of this extra–dimensional monster before it’s too late.” “Bruce Wemple’s latest film has it all – a strong script, incredible effects, terrific performances, and brilliant direction. After a such strong response at Panic Fest, we expect the film to do very well when we release it in June.” Said Keith Leopard, President of Uncork’d Entertainment: The creature feature, which features
