It’s October and that means it’s time to get into the spirit of the season, and obviously nothing gets you into the Halloween mood better than horror. Unfortunately when it comes to most live-action horror films, there’s only so much that can be done and shown, but thankfully of all things, Anime can cross the line with story, gore, and intriguing storytelling. So for every day this month, I’ll be featuring a unique Anime that fits the horror genre that you can most likely find on any streaming service. Who knew the best detective came from hell? Let’s take a look at Neuro: Supernatural Detective!
Neuro: Supernatural Detective (2007) follows a demon named Neuro who feeds off of solving mysteries. After solving all the mysteries in the demon world, Neuro comes to the human world and meets Yako, a high school girl who is trying to solve the mystery of her father’s death. Neuro then forms a detective agency where Yako is made to be looked like a prodigy detective while he’s really solving the crimes.
The 25 episode series is full of laughs as Neuro enjoys tormenting Yako by putting her in dangerous situations while he stays abnormally calm, and makes you feel uneasy when the culprits become crazy when their crimes are exposed.
